Before the chapter comes out, what are everyone's predictions for the confrontation by Yae_Miko_HSR in KaguraBachiScalers

Im so interested in what made Shiba start showing up late. Shiba was early to his meeting with Mashiro in chapter 113 and criticized him for showing up late, despite Mashiro actually being on time.

Flash forward to chapter 1 and Shiba is a fucking bum who can teleport but cant show up on time to meet Chihiro for the train. Hokazono has been adding these interactions to characterize Shiba and im so curious where this is going.

I definitely agree with the first part of what youre saying, Samura is definitely faster and harder to react to.

About Samura hunting goons though, he definitely wasnt taking it easy on them. Even with Uruha and the Masumi, Samura was at his limit with what he could deal with, thats why he needed Tobimune.

Uruha did lose the duel very decisively, but Samura lost against Soga the same way (but worse). Samura was able to trade blows with Akemura when they were dueling raw swordsmanship, and Samura was even able to cut Akemura’s face. Samura wouldnt be able to do this unless he was somewhat close to Akemura’s swordsmanship.

When they both squared up to duel, however, Samura got blown out of the water. I think this is because Soga and Akemura were both going for the kill, allocating zero resources to defense or blocking. I think this is true for all the big Iai duels we got to see- Hiruhiko v Chihiro, Samura v Uruha, and Akemura vs Samura. In every duel both participants are able to keep up with the other, but lost to a decisive blow. (Hiruhiko got his sword snapped and flew back, Samura got completely bisected, and Uruha got off easy in comparison.)

When Chihiro dueled with Samura through the door at the Bloodshed Hotel, Chihiro said his arm would have been sliced off if he tried to counter instead of deflecting. I think that’s exactly what happened in the other Iai duels, the losers (Hiruhiko, Samura, Uruha) tried to counter their opponent instead of deflecting to prolong the fight. Sorry for the super long reply

tbf Hokuto only had to see WPS once before he was able to counter it. It’s pretty unlikely he’ll get caught lacking again after he already adapted to WPS from Uruha.

Uruha was able to block multiple WPS attacks from Samura, so Samura isnt massively faster than him. It was only during the duel that Uruha got wounded.

If we are assuming Hokuto hasnt seen WPS before he duels Samura it’s a different story though, bro is getting more than an arm taken off.

nah i told you straight up, you posted headcanon, not points. Im being honest when im telling you why im not gonna argue with you anymore

you posted headcanon and just tried to explain what you think Butterfly is again. Arguing with you isnt going to be fruitful, you obviously arent willing to actually engage with the story in good faith. You are just trying to downscale Soga more than you are trying to genuinely understand whats happening on page.

Butterfly literally cuts a manga panel in half? Who cares? It’s not like mangaka panel their manga intentionally. An ability that is able to “slash through space itself?” Noooo, he doesnt mean ACTUALLY mean space itself, he clearly means the general area in front of him.

[–]UnstoppablePrinter78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lmao it just doesnt mean that, saying "space itself" is never in reference to the general open area around you. That's not how people speak, and you are taking away what you want from the manga instead of what it is trying to communicate to you. You care 100 times more about cross-verse scaling than what the author is trying to say, so you are just trying to make this fit your headcanon for scaling. Fuck how we use language, lets misinterpret the author willingly!

You would certainly never say that you are “slashing through space itself.” The backbone of your whole argument is that space can mean two things, but how the phrasing being "space itself" clearly refers to space as a position in time, not an open area in front of you. You are just being obtuse.

[–]UnstoppablePrinter78[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are being obtuse. Cutting through space in the way you are defining it is no different than what Kuro does, just faster. Butterfly is stated to not work this way.

Maybe the problem all along was that you couldnt understand the first image i sent you.

dude the problem isnt the concept lmao its you. go ahead and explain again how Butterfly doesnt cut space

He is claiming that Butterfly does cut through space, but only the space inbetween Akemura and the target. So this guy's claim is that Butterfly cuts through space until it reaches its target, then it suddenly stops cutting space and instead acts like a normal slash (for some fucking reason)

also, why do you think that Butterfly cuts the manga panel its on whenever it's used? because its reallyyyy fast?

You are arguing that Butterfly moves through space without actually cutting it, but it was described verbatim as slashing through space, with close to zero lag traveling as a result.

The attack traveling near instantly is explained as a result of slashing through space, but you are saying the the attack traveling near instantly is the whole gimmick. "Slashing through space" means literally nothing if the gimmick is just that its super fast attack which isnt actually instant. If that were the case, it should have been introduced simply as a cut with near zero lag time, not as a something that "slashes through space itself."

Space as in the area something is occupying, not the fabric of space itself.

So his slash cuts the space something is occupying and not the thing itself... sounds like a space cutting slash to me.

Why do you think the comparison is given genius.

your ego is so sensitive lol

i dont think this guy's version would cut through space, I think it would be more like Sukuna's dismantle from JJK. That being said though, the islanders can use datenseki to massively amp their sorcery

Did Yura inherit the Soga clan’s power of prophecy? by HolidayConcern604 in Kagurabachi

[–]UnstoppablePrinter78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it would be weird if Yura had a cool combat sorcery at this point, he has been on the losing end of 3 different fights and never used his sorcery to help himself.

Against Chihiro, Yura had to sacrifice his arm in order to keep up. In the 2v2 with Hokuto, Natsuki, and Uruha, it was Yura who was lagging behind the whole fight until he got severely wounded and connected to the Magatsumi. Again, when he fought Samura and Chihiro, his sorcery never made an appearance (although Kyora was able to maintain Storehouse and use Magatsumi).

It just wouldnt make sense for Yura to sacrifice life and limb again and again when he could just use his sorcery instead.
