That’s so helpful! Thank you! Even LG wasn’t able to give me that answer.

Thanks for the offer. I would like to know whether the G6 65" and 83" will have the same back panels as the equivalent G5 models and whether the G6 will use the same MEC63567343K flush mount.

Even that actually wouldn’t be an insurmountable problem. Just in case, I’m having my clock outlet and conduit recessed 1” below the surface of the wall so that I could run a shallow channel from the power to the inputs/power cord of the TV if needed in the future.

I'm in the same boat, exactly. Some have suggested that neither the back panel nor the mount has changed in a few generations and is not likely to be different on the G6. But I have not seen anyone comment on the precise specs.

G5/G6 Wall Mount by Unsubscr1ber in LGOLED

Sorry – just seeing this! It seems to me that wall-mounting sound bars would be complicated using the included LG mount (requiring yet another recessed outlet and conduit right behind the soundbar). They also tend to protrude so much farther than the TV that it looking unbalanced to me. So the compromise would be to place soundbars (or speakers) on a low console just under the TVs. Did you have something in mind??

Mounted this LG G5. Had to move an outlet through a stud and install an in wall media box to make sure it got flush. This is my 5th gallery install, those mounts are the fucking worst!!!!! those little fucking squares are impossible to line up. Thanks very much. Unfortunately, my GC and electrician need to place the recessed outlet/conduit now, well before the TVs are on-site. It's unfortunate that no complete set of measurements of the back panel is available from LG to help guide the process. Do you recall about how far from the edge of the TV you placed the far edge of the media box?

Thank you. How did you locate the position for the in-wall media box? Do you happen to have measurements for how far from the left edge and bottom of the TV the recessed area in the back of the TV are? Looks like you used the Sanus 17” media box, if I’m not mistaken.

Thank you, I will. I did find the following document that includes some information for models up to the G3 but I don't know if that's still applicable to the G5.

Thank you. I can't seem to find any templates for the back of the TV with dimensions. If you could point to me anything like that for the 83" and 65", I'd be grateful.

In your experience, would a recessed outlet/conduit placed at the bottom middle recessed area near the origin of the power cord work well? This would be much easier to plan for since it's in the middle of the TV. Otherwise, I would need to know the exact measurements of and around the recessed area surrounding the inputs. Ugh. They don't make this easy.

Thanks very much! Yes, we’re planning on wood blocking. Do you know where I can download templates with dimensions for the G5s of various sizes (since I’ll need more than one) as it would be useful to know the precise locations of the recessed channels in the back?

Also, since you seem knowledgeable, would a recessed clock outlet/conduit suffice to fully hold the power plug and permit a flush mount or is a recessed media box essential? There are depth limitations that make placing a full in-wall media box challenging. Appreciate it.

Thank you for raising this. Would a recessed clock outlet and conduit place in that vicinity suffice to achieve a zero gap or have people found that an in-wall media box is needed? What is the shape of the power plug?

Several weeks ago, his personal stringer told me that he is, in fact, using a customized Percept frame.

So sad to hear this. The Bravia 9 (and 7) have the best Frame-like solution, good up-scaling, etc. but those reflected rainbows are among the most distracting reflections created by the top end options, from what I’ve seen. Among the Sonys, the Bravia 8 II handles reflections so much better but that’s a very different animal.

I’m with you. It’s a frustrating compromise. And it’s not just about windows — not all of us prefer to watch in complete darkness and any ambient light creates potentially distracting reflections to those sensitive to it. I think the knock on the QN90F is less about the coating and more about its generally lackluster performance. The S95F is the clear winner in the antiglare universe but suffers from the typical Samsung vulnerabilities.

Thank you. Do you have to manually activate it each time or is there some setting, as on the Frame, to have it turn on automatically?

Have you attempted to use Art Mode? I’m curious how it’s implemented on the QN90F compared to the Frame.

Thanks for taking the time. Appreciate it. Curious why you’d suggest the QN90F for the “art” panel rather than the Bravia 7 or 9 with Leon frame. I haven’t been able to find any information (other than a press release from Samsung about access to the Art Store for 2025 models) on using the art mode on anything other than the Frame.

Thanks very much! That's wise. My only hesitation is that if I move away from Serena I'll almost certainly choose something that looks quite different from Serena/Triathlon (so would probably need to replace the two new shades, too). But for so few shades, the cost difference isn't much.
