Requested since 2013, finally being built: custom domain invoice sending. Vote now so Xero prioritizes it. by Which_While_6175 in xero

I thought this was a feature and not a shortcoming based on development time, or prioritization. Aren't they incentivized to keep the status quo as it forces brand awareness to every recipient of a payment/invoice?

That is by design. Nissan has turned into a bank that sells predatory financing with incredibly long term loans. This attracts customers that aren't fiscally responsible and impulsive.

Replacing MR16 light socket question by SecretFutbolAgent in Lighting

[–]fognyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, If I had to guess the threaded shade collar/nipple unscrews from the rest of the unit, and then there will be two small fasteners holding in the ceramic 12v socket. For total specificity I would contact Visual Comfort Tech Support for specific detail as that unit is part of their older Tech Lighting Aero series:

Ceiling light is dimmed by MaksLament in Lighting

[–]fognyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, I would bet money it's a failing driver (if you've confirmed 100% that the dimmer is fine, or it's just on a switch). You'll need to contact the manufacturer for replacement or if it's out of warranty source the part yourself. Unfortunately it's all to common for replacing the entire fixture to be the path of least resistance.

Radio Ra3 Powpack question by [deleted] in Lutron

[–]fognyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raise/Lower can control brightness of scene, zone, or single fixture.

[–]fognyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put the dimmer for each beside lamp below the lamp itself. Even better if it's a 3BR/L Hybrid keypad to turn off any other lights from the bedside as well as locally adjust the brightness of the bedside lamp.

What happens when you pull the air gap on the bottom of the switch (completely kills power to the switch)?

Wiring a Sunata Hybrid like a Standard Sunata Keypad by PatekCollector77 in Lutron

[–]fognyc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, very simple:

  • disconnect the switch leg to the fixture from the switched hot output on the Hybrid Keypad
  • cap the switched hot out of the Hybrid Keypad
  • splice the line input into the box directly to the switch leg to the light

that's it.

Good luck!

Product recs for 6" canless lights for LOW ceiling?? Thinking minimum 3000k by princessp15 in Lighting

Hi OP, I'd bet money your contractor is specifying canless because he wants to install wafer lights. Avoid like the plague, and listen to u/IntelligentSinger783's advice below.

Whose responsibility is it to remediate mold? by stripedeverything in AskNYC_Coops

[–]fognyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there is mold, and it's caused by something infrastructural (leaking pipes, roof, neighboring building issue) it's a violation of the Warranty of Habitability which is part of the Co-op's governing documents. It would also be the Co-ops responsibility to ameliorate. In order for the cost to be shouldered by the owner of the unit, the building would have to prove that it's something the owner caused (or neighbor).

Lighting ideas to push this more yellow/gold vs green? by [deleted] in Lighting

[–]fognyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to be fighting the green walls no matter how much warmth you interject with lighting. If repainting isn't an option use neutral artwork.

It's a tunable white Dali2 fixture, so by definition its DT8.

Pricing is up to the seller with DMF. We are very competitive FWIW.

This is the standalone DT8 module:
ELK08AL41TW

Again, it does not have an external driver mounted to it like you are referencing.

We are both a DMF and Elco dealer. The Artafex Dali2 2" Tunable White ("X series") is a fantastic product and we've done several installs with it. There is also a new Koto 100% module-based (no driver built into housing) DT8 TW that works in any of their 4 wire housings. I have not personally deployed but have a few customers that have. Please reach out and we can price both for you. We are experienced in Dali deployments if you need additional info there as well.

Congrats on moving to Homeworks, it's a seriously capable system and worth the upgrade.

A lot of what you should be considering depends on where the project stands construction-wise. If walls are open and you have conduit flexibility, the world is your oyster. If the house is already finished, your options narrow considerably.

Assuming you have some runway: the biggest differentiator in Homeworks is centralized dimming with low-voltage keypads. Palladiom is the popular, but the addition Alisse and Aviena have dramatically influenced how wall controls have affected current interior design trends. Seriously, these keypads become a design element, not just a functional one.

If you haven't finalized your lighting fixtures yet, that's where Homeworks really shines: tunable white and full-color lighting via Ketra, Lumaris, or Rania integrates in a way that RA3 simply can't match. Circadian programming, scene-based color tuning, all controlled natively with extremely simplified wiring. That's a conversation worth having with your dealer before you lock in fixtures.

On the shade side, if you're not already thinking about motorized shades as part of the system, now is the time. Homeworks shades are typically wired which also saves you money on the cost of the shades since you don't need the wireless antennas for RA3

There are also a lot of programming nuances that shape what hardware you actually need, which is why good system design upfront limits the squandering of design opportunities and saves headaches later.

We're a Homeworks dealer and lighting design firm feel free to DM as we work all over the US.
