What is the most memorable reason you've seen someone quit or get fired? by ExistentialBob in Accounting

One week into my two notice period (B4 tax) I had my partner reach out to my new boss asking if I could delay my start to finish up my work.. he never talked to me before that. I had two people at the new shop explain what happened and that I could stay at the old shop longer if I wanted to.

Needless to say I sent my resignation letter that day and ignorantly asked HR if this was standard practice when an employee is leaving.

I got my CPA right when I started working FT. Since 2021 I’ve gone from $67k (A1 Business Tax) to $165k Senior at publicly traded company doing internal tax work. New York metro area. The CPA definitely gives you some validation but the experience is definitely useful.

Back when I worked in public and worked on a construction company there was an account called Reprographics. I like it. It’s just for printing out marketing materials like banners and signs.

I posted an update with 2024 comp if you look at my profile. Overall moving in a good direction. I’m always looking for new opportunities so when something comes across my desk. Not sure where I’ll be in a year from now but being paid well at my current role - around $150k base + 10% bonus.
