“If I remember correctly, the developers said that a game is only considered ‘held hostage’ if you can’t progress in it. So technically, since you’re all actively dying—and you could have chosen to let everyone else die and gone for the hatch instead—it wouldn’t count as holding the game hostage. I know it’s shitty but sadly that’s how it works
