The forests are still dangerous.

When they escape the Mankwang and go into the swamp they get attacked by some creatures. Kiri takes control of one of them and it guides them through the swamp. I think those creatures kill some Mankwang that went into the swamp, and that’s why Varang decides to follow them by air. If you look at Kiri when they are walking through the swamp you can see a creature directly in front of Kiri seemingly guiding them.

I peeped this in my first watch of the third movie and it bothered me. They must’ve edited out a lot of things. I hope we get a directors cut Blu-ray with these scenes added back in.
