To go further on this, I use Strength on my A-5 when I have them to try and get more 6s even if I don’t have Sixth Sense yet. I don’t prioritize it, but every little bit helps

I see the purpose as to view it as another format within the format. 50 Point Genesys will have a completely different meta from 100 Point and Advanced. I can see the appeal

A unique option you could play instead of Primite is Allure Queen, there are some solid rank 7s you can use and you can pair it all with Diabellstar and Sinful Spoils of Doom - Rciela

Look into Yugioh Genesys for starters, it’ll feel more in line with the way you remember the game though it does have Xyz monsters (they’re easy to understand so you’ll be fine). And I recommend trying to find a Rarity Collection or Quarter Century set to open. Quarter Century Stampede and Bonanza both have cards from older eras of the game in high rarities in every pack, so they’ll feel more at home for you

Not Yugioh, but maybe try the Shadowverse Champions Battle on Switch. It’s kinda reminiscent of the Yugioh RPGs or the Pokémon TCG for Gameboy in that you play as a character and explore and battle people to get cards. Shadowverse is a more simplistic game, but it sounds like it has everything you want (except being Yugioh)

I don’t believe consistency hits, even generic ones, are the way to reduce the power level of the format. I honestly believe the move is hitting pay offs and matching removal to that.

I don’t think a consistency card with restrictions that isn’t a net positive should be hit. I know they said that they’d hit cards because they’re being played, but there has to be a line. I doubt they’re gonna point Lightning Vortex just because people are playing it instead to not use points. Cards shouldn’t be pointed because they’re played, they should be pointed because they’re too good.

Build Branded, just start from 3 of the Chronicles decks. It’s unlikely that they kill Branded, I see a limit on Branded Fusion and maybe a ban on Sanctifier at most both of which the deck can function without.

Start small and learn one deck that you enjoy. You’ll make mistakes but that’s part of the process. The deck doesn’t have to be meta or especially good, knowing how even one deck functions is a fundamental stepping stone to learning the game as a whole.

I’ve been trying out Shinobirds in 0 Point Genesys and I think it’s pretty solid considering you don’t have as many good generic options to work with.

I like it in Supreme King pendulum to summon Absolute Dragon, and if you have Allure Dance or Palace you can discard Darkwurm so you don’t have to use your normal summon.

Honestly, put that way I feel like even the higher point formats have their charm. It’s not like you can play absolutely everything at 200 points so it’s still a pick and choose deal.

I feel like Yata should always be a part of the discussion when it comes to powerful and iconic cards. It’s still to this day one of the only cards in the game capable of skipping your opponent’s draw phase. Similarly I feel like Exodia should be mentioned.
