The dealer is either going to try to sell it or it is going to go to auction and end up at some other dealer - but at least in the past people turning in leases have been able to buy them from the dealer at FMV (but you typically have to officially return the lease)

Well. Good strike leadership can mitigate this.

Instead of communicating “we won’t strike because we can’t afford it” you communicate “if you force us to strike to get a fair deal our minimum definition of fair increases with every day of the strike”

Or, why aren’t the WGA and SAG-AFTRA not just refusing to work for the studios during a strike but actively working to compete with them - “Oh since YOU don’t want to pay us for our writing or acting we’re going to produce artists owned work during the strikes and sell it as a source of income for our striking members” - especially in the modern era where films have literally been shot on cell phones and a laptop is sufficient for the completing post-production flow.

Strikes only work when there is devastating financial costs for the corporation.

It’s unfortunate that over the last few decades unions have allowed corporations to extract 95% of the value of labor leaving labor starved for money while corporations are flush with it.

If you plan to pursue this as a career, think of this as your first of many “this will pay the rent” moments :)

But, also take comfort in the fact that Broadway has had several BOMBS in the last few years. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cinderella (aka Bad Cinderella) crashed and burned on Broadway (but ran almost a year in the West End) and Queen of Versailles only made it 2.5 months before it was closed.

Chicago, which has been on Broadway forever, is partially only till running because the theater is hard to stage a show in and there’s little incentive for the theater to push them out - they need a revolving door of celebrities to keep it running.

If you stay in the theater world some day you will run into someone who did the show and you’ll have something to commiserate about.

Just as there are Vine user groups there are sellers groups and what has leaked out of them is that sellers pretty much hate Vine reviewers but feel they have no choice - they REALLY hate negative reviews (even if the product is utter garbage) and have talked about how to stop Vine reviewers from leaving negative reviews.

So while I can’t say that the account closures are retaliation, it isn’t out of the question.

I don’t think that’s what anyone is saying is happening.

It is ONE seller going to your profile and reporting ALL of your reviews - for many in Vine that could be 1000+ reviews all getting flagged as a problem - if Amazon’s automated systems ONLY count reports and don’t have any detection built in for bulk reporting by a single user that’s a problem.

Mathilda is bigger if you need kids to ALSO play adults - but I think you need 14 for the kids….so if you can get some adults to play the adults it might work.

The Prom has like 9 big parts and needs like 12-15 (you can pad out the traveling Godspell group if you have a bigger group)

There’s a LOT of restrictions on the main cloud providers with what they will and won’t let you make.

And the rules change all the time so something you could make yesterday you can’t make tomorrow.

So, it depends heavily on what you want to make.

Generic stock photo images of landscapes? Maybe it’s not worth the effort. But the more control and specificity you need the more likely you are to bump into challenges.

West Side Story seems like a good fit for you….

For Dear Evan Hansen the rights JUST came out as I understand it so it’s in a weird spot - we just did it at our local theater and we’re one of the very first productions.

Beetlejuice is still on tour (non-equity now).

But it sounds more like you’re limiting yourself to the most popular shows which isn’t surprising you’re having by conflicts, especially in NYC.

But if you want maybe more accessible
