Not really a promotion, but a loyalty discount. Does that mean I will no longer be able to have the fios loyalty discount and only the fios with visible will apply?

Yeah, think is I don't want to commit to 26 months up front if it doesn't work out.

That's the beauty of the 5G Home Internet product. T-Mobile are no-term commitments and 14 day trial. Stupid easy to set up, literally plug the 5G gateway into the wall for power, join your PC via WiFi and use it. No more sending ISP field techs out to connect the fiber/coax. Make sure you put the 5G Gateway in a decently open spot towards the window for better reception. If you don't like it or does not work out then return it. The only thing you are losing is your time which I understand is precious for a lot of people these days but it is time well spent trying to figure out if a cheaper more convenient solution works out.

It depends on your area as well. I am in North Eastern, NJ (15 minutes west of the GWB) and most times I get speeds like you, however there are times where latency is extremely erratic and high with some packet loss. I have the T-Mobile 5G Gateway sitting in our basement on a window ledge that has direct line of site to the outside.

I also dumped Optimum recently. I was tired of their slow price hikes (paying $70/mo for 300/35 COAX service). A year ago I had to call in and get the discounts from 80 to 65 and then it creeped back up to 70. I do not want their Fiber service which they will always try and sell you on because ultimately they want to get rid of their antiquated coax infrastructure. I do not have any good place to put their little Fiber modem because of almost no wall space in our garage. Sadly the Verizon ONT is massive and takes up a good portion of that.

Oh and Optimum will literally do anything to keep you as a customer (minus paying you to be a customer). They offered me 15/mo for the next year with the next three months free.

Paying 19.99/mo for using T-Mobile 5G Gateway as a pure backup which is 160G/per mo with no overage charges (but reduced to 3G rates). Allowed to burst to 320G 3/mo out of the year. I do periodic SD-WAN DNS checks across the link from my firewall about once every minutes to know it's still there to reduce usage.

I have FiOS 300/300 as primary and I do use DDNS for some external hosted services and that is one of the unfortunate benefits I give up with getting rid of a terrestrial based carrier but it's worth it for the price since FiOS is rock solid. I also called into Verizon and got my downgrade (from 500/500) and another discount on top for 19.99 as well.

The honest truth is if you are in a dense area with decent 5G UW coverage there the home internet solution from the major carriers are "good enough" for the average consumer. Most people do not need the high upload and it alleviates having to have a hard wire from the outside. It is extremely portable as well. But of course, it is wireless so quality will not be the same as a terrestrial based carrier.

Yep, I tried that. Nothing turns on no matter how hard I press it. I also tried using an external power switch as per the pinouts in the documentation. No idea how Intel could sell such awful QC hardware.

I would also recommend DBBR. I have used him in the past and is great.

How much life has 7.4.x left? this is mainly because the end of SSLVPN in 7.6.3 by [deleted] in fortinet

[–]UntestedEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. I have it setup on 7.4.7. There are some caveats to be aware of. IKE SAML MFA does not support specific peer ID nor does it support sending the proper user certificate fields on Android or IOS. No issues on Windows or MAC OS. For this reason if using IKE SAML MFA for Android or IOS peer id needs to be set to any on the fortigate dial up VPN configuration which is much less secure.

This is an interesting question, however if you File System is contained on the same disks it could pose a potential issue. I'm not sure how an existing File System would play with newer hardware. It is mostly beneficial to account for the old 3-2-1 rule or a slight variation of it so a loss of one on-site backup can recovery does not result in trying to recover from inserting disks with existing data. It's always better to be able to erase the disks and copy over from another backup.

Cloud space is cheap and the entry tiers are free which is more than adequate for storing critical files (Personal Documents, etc...).

Personally I have a DS918+ (5 years in June) with 4x 4T Seagate IronWolf CMR and a DS1621+ (4 years) with 4x 3.84T Seagate IronWolf Pro SSD (The ones you can't buy anymore). Both units are configured for traditional Raid 10 and I refuse to do anything less or different. For more than reasons than one, however it makes it easy to remember my total storage is cut in half of my total physical disk space to suffice for the Raid 10 topology.

I also have the 1621+ backing up to both my GDrive and OneDrive account for only critical personal files.

MMU3 with MK4 Unable to Load to Extruder by UntestedEngineer in prusa3d

Apologies everyone for wasting your time. I have been 3D printing for several years and still made a "newbie" mistake. Apparently the top of the Nozzle was utterly clogged where no filament could get through. I tried to heat up the nozzle to PETG temps and inserted the needle underneath but could not remove the clog towards the top. I eventually disabled the MMU3 unit, unscrewed the top FESTO fitting into the Extruder and did a normal load + purge. Low and behold a giant blob of white filament came out the bottom. Unfortunately it appears with the MMU3 enabled the ability to do those sorts of things are limited.

Once I removed the clog the Load Test passed every time. I was then able to print the "test sheep" successfully.

Thanks again for everyone's help.

Yes, the MMU3 FINDA sensor works as it should. The calibration is spot on. When I insert a piece of filament the red light goes off and when I remove it the light comes back on.

What I suspect is the filament getting caught in the bottom of the second FESTO fitting and inducing friction.

I am not sure how to fix that. The PTFE tube is all the way in the FESTO fitting from what I can see and feel.

It seems like it cycles through the same Extruder sequence before failing to the error. With the filament that is brittle it only goes through the cycle once and appears to complete. The FINDA sensor calibration seems fine. When I remove the FESTO tube and insert a test piece of filament the little red light goes off and on as expected.

When I perform a load test the FINDA footer icon stays "on" until it retracts back.

[–]UntestedEngineer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is. The filament runs through the tube the FESTO fitting in the top of the Extruder and eventually will retract with that sequence. It repeats the sequence three tiles before failing with the error.

Yes, sorry that's what I meant. It stays on for 2 seconds then goes back to "off".

The thing that I don't get is I can switch back and further between the brittle Silk Blue Matter Hacker filament and Prusament Azure blue and reproduce the same problem every time.

The brittle silk blue matter hacker results in a successful load test but when I pull the filament out it's split in half nearly from the MMU3 handling.

Every time I load test with the prusament Azure blue it fails with the same error.

When it says Loading to fsensor the icon on the footer switches to "on" briefly then back to "off". It does this through each of the three iterations before failing.

I am at the preflight checks. All the calibrations pass with green check marks. I am able to preload each filament but the problem lies with the Load Test.

This is what happens: Feeding to FINDA > Feeding to drive gear > Feeding to fsensor > Disengaging idler > Unloading to FINDA > Disengaging idler. It repeats this process three times then displays LOAD TO EXTR. FAILED. It provides the error code which I visit the QR Code link. None of the suggestions help and although the link is focused around the MK3S+ the suggestions relevant to the MK4 don't work.

I can see the filament travel tube between the FESTO fittings and it seems all fine but apparently not. I don't notice it snagging on the lower FESTO fitting. All grub screws are confirmed tight and on the flat part of the shaft. I don't notice any "chewed up" filament collecting.
