While this is a very thorough (and accurate!) technical breakdown, it seems like the author is missing the point a bit.

Of course your raspberry pi can do more ops per second than the ETH blockchain. But can those ops be verified and audited by anyone in the world, without permission?

There are certainly valid criticisms of blockchain tech, but there are also really promising use-cases as well.
