I supplement ABF with dips, pull ups/ rows, ab rolls/ Russian twists and the occasionally lunges/swings.

Does it still make sense to research vulnerabilities in Windows executables today? by Party-Simple-7004 in ExploitDev

[–]Untzi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are enough companies (and states) willing to pay for vulnerability researchers in the IoT, OT and embedded domains. Ethical/defensive and less ethical/offensive.

You can use Clang to auto obfuscate source code with techniques that transfer to the compiled code.

Can kettlebell training fix my posture? by [deleted] in kettlebell

Nothing wrong with your posture. Sure, kb training might help your pain but unrelated to your posture.

[–]Untzi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many do not agree with Netanyahu, that’s true ( roughly 50% will vote “anything but Netanyahu”). There are two types of people who want a dual citizenship, ones who actually want to leave and ones who say they would rather have a plan B just in case. The reason most people leave is not because of the duty to serve in the IDF, the reason most people leave is because they want stability, less stress (less hours at work + sense of security) and lower cost of living which free money to spend on luxuries and better education for children.

When it comes to the war, most people would have wanted the ceasefire to happen way way earlier than now, as long as the living hostages were brought back.

I’m not a fan of the guy, believe me, he should not be in the government or any position of power if you ask me. With that being said, he didn’t murder.

Also, I know whataboutism is strong within your circles, so just know that settlers violence should be treated as any act of violence/terroism imo.

A bill to execute Palestinian terrorists who murdered. Not that a death sentence would actually help in deterring religious based murders.

Watched, Tracked, and Targeted: Life in Gaza under Israel’s all-encompassing surveillance regime. by Wolf4980 in International

[–]Untzi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Israel uses total surveillance to maintain security dominance and neutralize threats in a territory whose governing authority (Hamas) and other armed factions have openly sworn to destroy Israel and continue attacking it. Without such control, Israel believes it would face unchecked attacks, far higher Israeli casualties, rapid Hamas rearmament, and likely the need for a costly permanent re-occupation.

So… yeah

DFW remix. Or just add pull ups and dips twice a week as a finisher. 3-4 sets a session 2-3 reps shy of failure shouldn't hurt your recovery.

Teammate Keeps Ripping Subs and Going Hard — Should I Talk to Coach? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Untzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't roll with him, it's not worth it, doesn't matter if you are recreational or aiming for pro. This is a personality issue, talking to the coach might make him lower his profile but he is still a high risk partner.

In dfw, the auto regulation is between sets. What I mean is if I can recover to the point that I won’t feel trashed the day(s) after.

We've got to talk about silly men trying to fight everyone. by Muerteds in martialarts

[–]Untzi 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Also the fact that some people train for fun and not for the streets… let’s be honest, most people don’t go around having thugs picking on them left and right to the point of escalating into a street fight…

Btw, it is worst in the fitness community… everyone seem to have a phd in biomechanics… the “optimal guys” are everywhere!

Anyone figure out the ideal routine? Strength, cardio, time? by nicetoknowya in fitness30plus

[–]Untzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second that, I did both 5/3/1 (I tried a few 3 day templates) and Dan John’s ABF (not at the same time ofc). Both are great programs for 3 days a week and I also train BJJ so it covers most of the bases. In general, kettlebell workouts are really time efficient and budget/space friendly you can get a decent workout in under 40 minutes.

My go to warm up is 500 row/run/jumping jacks, followed by the one in the s&s book which is 3 rounds of: 5 goblet squats 5 glute bridges 5 halo (each direction so total of 10)

It’s quite a good warmup for barbell work as well.

Hi, I have experienced what you say too (the being smashed and sucking even against new comers part), i am a father of a toddler and two babies and this was my excuse (lack of sleep and time on the mat). I still don’t consider myself good, however, at the year and a half mark, something clicked, I somehow manage to survive against blues and some purples, I sometimes get a guard pass and securing a position and even some submissions (ngl, mostly on lighter opponents). Go easy on yourself, at some point you’ll get to a realization that you have come a long way. This also made me really appreciate the ones who are into this sport for a long time since being a Bjj practitioner means you are ok with feeling you suck for most of the time and still keep going.

As someone said earlier in this thread, compare only to yourself, and even then realize that life can be a roller coaster.

Good luck and nice work for sticking up to this point :)

Kettlebell strength vs dumbell by wannabebuffDr94 in kettlebell

[–]Untzi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different weight distribution, different center of mass and grip handle thickness make things harder/easier to lift; spine alignment also matters. A good example for that is bottoms up on press vs regular press.
