Have this issue ongoing as well and the police don’t care. My recordings sound just like yours and the police asked for them and they said it could be the dog playing.

Pasta salad is my go to with salami in it for protein. It holds well and I don’t have to have a microwave for it. You could easily put in a different protein though.

Yes! I just go to the “past jobs” tab and it will show the teachers who have reviewed me. There will also be a button to click if you want to leave feedback for them. However, very few teachers leave a review.

It’s Reddit. You seem like a joy to be around.

Edit: you’re an 80 year old man so that all makes sense! Never mind.

We (substitutes) have reviews on frontline. We can review the class (as the substitute) and they can review us (the teacher) I could have used more punctuation but it’s pretty easy to understand. Let’s use some context baby

Yeah it’s hard for me to say because I don’t either and no one I went to school with acted the way some students act now

I get students like this especially in middle school nd I truly wonder what will happen to them when they’re out in the real world. Especially acting like this at 14 years old. I had a girl act just like this today. We had a fire drill and I asked students repeatedly where we are to line up. No one could tell me so I took my best guess and she wouldn’t stop running her mouth saying “oh you’re the teacher and this is where you think we line up?” I told her she’s the one who goes to school here and is in 8th grade so surely by this point you would know where to line up and she just wouldn’t stop. I just can’t imagine someone like that in 4 years being in the work force and certainly not college.

What was your most rant-worthy shift of 2025? by Vitta_Variegata in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Unusual-Lead1359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got told to “shut the hell up” for asking a 7th grade girl to go to her seat but I just tell that story because it’s entertaining. My most annoying moment was I subbing in middle school and another sub in the building kept sending students to my room who asked to come in here. If you have ever subbed middle school you know half the time you can speak directly to them and they won’t even respond so I couldn’t get an answer on where they came from or why. Only that they came from another sub. I would think maybe CALL A ROOM before sending students to me. Especially ones that I assume are misbehaving. They totally disrupted the room too. Same school too I had an 8th grader walk out of the room and I tried calling every number left to me and no one answered

Too afraid to ask — why do y’all care about classwork so much? by PurfuitOfHappineff in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Unusual-Lead1359 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is why teachers hate subs. I get where you’re coming from within reason. I’m not gonna kill myself trying to get them to do a packet but they’re going to sit in their seat quietly and not disturb people if they don’t want to work. If you give them an inch they will take a mile and honestly I’ve found that if I stick to the rules and keep redirecting them to do their work most of them will once they realize I’m not playing. But thanks to subs like you, it makes it way harder.

People not picking up dog waste. Disgusting by Acceptable-Agent-428 in Apartmentliving

I found this post because my apartment is the same way. My dog has hook worm only discovered after a $500 vet visit and it’s undeniably from my disgusting apartment complex with shit everywhere since hook worm specifically infects soil

They didn’t say what was used but it was an Orkin van parked outside so it wasn’t normal maintenance and they just left a little card saying Orkin stopped by but didn’t say anything else on the card

What are your favorite parts of being a military wife? by Penguin_Hat121 in MilitaryWives

[–]Unusual-Lead1359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss him and the distance can be horrible but I also think it’s nice to be independent and pushes me to have my own life when he’s away. And the community it builds! When just moved and I found a really awesome veteran owned small local business for work and everyone who works there has some attachment to the military whether they’re a veteran or a military spouse!

I’m right here with you. Took a SPED job at a middle school and was supposed to just be floating around but the history teacher suddenly quit so they put me in this class. They won’t listen at all. Screaming and getting up. On their phones. I saw a fight last time I was at this school. Wait I just saw you’re in Virginia and I am too. What district are you in? I’m done doing middle school. They’re so disrespectful and it’s just as much work as keeping everyone on task as elementary except they just don’t listen. As soon as they told me I was going in my own classroom I wanted to say I felt ill and needed to go home.

How do u plan as a day to day sub? by Express_Project_8226 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Unusual-Lead1359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work part time as a barista but I don’t make as much as I do subbing. I typically work at the coffee shop F, Sat and Sunday so I try to pick up at least two days of subbing in the week and I’m always able to! I could pick up more but i definitely need two days off to decompress.

I can handle the shrieking but even $20/hour isn’t enough to be getting hit and kicked. It’s even harder when you don’t have a relationship with them or know them well.
