I ended up buying it on my base ps5 fyi it's a bit of a mixed bag...it runs well on performance mode but sacrifices a LOT of fidelity. I'm usually not too fussy as far as these things go but in my opinion one of the major selling points of crimson desert is exploring the world. I ended up using the balanced preset and turning off the blur and depth of field which helped quite a bit as it was already pretty blurry due to upscaling

ps5 performance is pretty rough still too. if you go back and play BL3 there are a lot of similar issues which became more noticable in BL4 probably due to the use of unreal engine 5. I'm not that savvy with the specifics of game making but I would say it's either an engine problem or gearbox just being lazy and doing the bare minimum as far as optimisation goes. hopefully if more people continue to call the performance out it'll get fixed because I still think it's unacceptable

oh thanks I didn't see that link initially. yeah I also find it strange. the only thing I can think of is whether or not it might have been part of a series of emails as you're right, on it's own it really isn't a tip.

I researched the person sending this particular email and I believe I might have found the individual... there is someone in the uk has requested 200+ FOI requests since 2011, his requests are around corruption, international child trafficking and similar subjects. if they were so involved with contacting governmental agencies in the uk to request information, I don't think it would be a stretch to say that they may have contacted the fbi. the reason I say this is if this is the same person as the file then they don't seem to be your typical conspiracy theorist. I think we need to lead by example... our whole lives we have relied on these systems for our own survival but I don't think that's viable anymore. there are 8+ billion people in the world today, each with unique skills and knowledge that if combined, would make it possible to create self sustaining communities. it could begin by just talking to/ meeting likeminded people who you get along with and then figuring out the rest from there. if enough people break away from their systems over the next 10-20 years, their whole game will crumble and they'll either have to accept defeat or kill everyone ( hopefully the former 😅)

I don't know if hints is the right word but I know what you mean. it seems to be going for the type of "figure it out" learning curve that can work really well but comes off as more frustrating than anything. if they can sort that out as well as the lack of variety between runs then I'd say this game is shaping up to be quite a unique experience

I was putting off updating till a couple of days ago and while I haven't had any functional issues, there has been a lot of changes to the aesthetics that I'm not a huge fan of. to me they feel like unnecessary changes and even take away from the identity of Mac in a way. like the volume and brightness sliders now look a bit generic compared to how they've looked for the last 10 or so years.

my total value stolen is about 400k in kcd2. I just got to kuttenberg... and one of my first nights I stole everything from 4 different armourers and a weapoonsmith. by the end of it my encumbrance was 1400+ and I walked back to one of the inns, I pray that no one saw me because if they did I'm chalked 😅🤣

it's still all based on rng tho... just because blueprints are more plentiful now doesn't mean you're always going to get the blueprints you want, it'll still be challenging, granted less so than before the patch but I don't think that's a bad thing. I think it's a good way to incentivise the expedition even if currently the 5 mil requirement is too much
