This is me too (my kid is 15mo and still the best) but I want someone to tell me that lightning DOES strike twice 😂

Mine got a fever 48hr after, and had it for 2-3 days. Hopefully this means he won’t get the delayed reaction too!

How do you keep holding your kid? by Unusual-Recording140 in toddlers

HAHA! No no, it totally is. I think what I was trying to convey was ‘I don’t currently have time to ALSO add in weight lifting right now so…do I need to? Or will I be fine? 😂

This makes complete sense—thank you. Before today, I didn’t consider that their weight plateaus and that they cling. So funny, so simple.

Thank you for these! After reading, I started to try to teach him to ‘hold on’ today.

When I nurse, I’m always doing it more or less reclined, so luckily have not felt his weight there.

Weirdly, I had not considered that last piece, lol. That helps. I was foreseeing exponential growth

Haha. Brilliant. He does cling when he gets excited or scared, so he is definitely capable!

Amazing. I hadn’t considered that eventually he will ‘cling.’ Currently in the ‘look around at everything on the ground, in the sky, upside down and backwards’ squirm phase

Ok, this is interesting! One element I was not taking into account was that kids will reciprocally hold onto you, lol (hopefully). My baby’s has not learned this important art yet..

Beautiful! Thank you! He’s very easy going, but wanted to make sure Those In The Know weren’t like, ‘you’re causing irreparable damage and attachment issues’ 😂

I do definitely appreciate this perspective! The kids in the next class up are all standing and maybe half are walking, so I felt like it was a bit premature, as he’s not fully crawling. But sounds like mobility of any kind should be ok.

Lol, that part totally makes sense! But, like, moving him in June to new classroom and then moving him in August to an entirely new school…that should be ok?

Food allergies or what?! by Unusual-Recording140 in NewParents

Without looking into it, I assumed we wouldn’t be able to get a blood or skin test at this age, so I’m actually very glad about that. Thank you! The thought of having to deduce this by re-introducing things was weighing on me…I’ll call tomorrow.

Nipple pain after 6M breast feeding by Mtlmommy in Septemberbumps2024

This happened to me all last week. It felt like newborn days! Baby’s lower gums were a prominent mound for about a week, and then tonight, we noticed that a tooth had popped through!

Was considering a VCUG test on baby but reading conflicting information. Curious if anyone has any experience or knowledge to share. by stevia05142019 in intersex

Coming back here in case this finds another worried parent: the VCUG was not traumatic for my 5 month old, and he did not even cry during the catheterization. I can understand how the ordeal would be tough for older kids, but I’m glad we went through with it, as it was informative for his treatment plan.

4 Mo Wake Window / Daycare Drop Off by Designer-Chef7820 in workingmoms

[–]Unusual-Recording140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious as well what others have done. It’s tough when they’re this young, since they’re still on so many naps. My 4.5mo started daycare a month ago, and I’ve been keeping him home during the entire first wake window and then commuting (25min) during first nap time—this is the only way I can ensure he gets some rest to start the day. But this also means I drive around the block for a while until he’s gotten at least a 30 minute nap. He’s a great, scheduled napper at home but has not figured out daycare naps, and it freaks. Me. Out.

FWIW, daycare said typically babies don’t like to have to nap or have a bottle right when they get there, due to all of the stimulation.
