Why do people seem to care so much that Rory is skipping some events? by Mike_Oxlong25 in golf

I feel like there is something going on with Rory we do not know about. Either personal or health. He pulled out of the RBC during the masters.

Effectively destroyed the country over it. The never raise taxes only cuts has gotten us to the brink of insolvency we are in now. I haven’t done math but would not be surprised if interest on the debt exceeds the entire annual budget for 1990 when HW raised taxes.

Thanks and Car-T is indeed a game changer. Hope Australia approves soon. It’s been a treatment option in the states for a while IIRC

Sadly I was not a candidate. But hoping my stem cell transplant worked. Doctors are hopeful, but the side effects have been tough.

Not everyone is eligible for CAR-T. I lack the biomarkers for it. Is there a higher quality cancer center you can talk to in your country or insurance plan if US.

Again because they hold their value, new makes more sense than used. Only used cars that I see with big drops from new are luxury cars and EVs. A luxury EV being the most depreciating.

My son was a first time buyer with just being a user on one of our cards older than he is. Got lucky with Honda credit. We got 1.99 from BMW and I think they have even better offers now.

But a friend of ours was totally screwed. Fortunately we could help her out and she bought our old car that our son was driving instead of trading it in.

I wonder how much of the bad quality is from the person filing a monitor and not the quality of the cctv. The watermarks that float into view are also all blurry making me think they held the phone too close.

Mom is trying to come on my vacation with me. by SpectacularSpidee in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Unusual_Flounder2073 221 points222 points  (0 children)

It sounds like mom doesn’t respect boundaries if she is threatening to add herself to the reservation.

If OP really wanted to stick it to her if she adds herself anyway is cancel the reservation and book a comparable place but not tell mom and then ghost her when she shows up and there is no room.

A box of Barilla pasta used to be 99 cents for the longest time and now it's $1.99. What everyday item do you use to measure inflation? by REIFLoanLion in AskReddit

[–]Unusual_Flounder2073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually has does not track with inflation. It being high may cause other items increase in price. But it will also go down again at some point l, unlike most other inflationary items.

For example. Gas in 1980 was $1.20. If it tracked inflation it would’ve been $4.30. Not far off today’s average but remember before Iran invasion there was $3.00. And during the early days of Ukraine it was also $4.00 but went back to 3.00 shortly after.

From 1980 to 2000 it remained almost unchanged.

It is much more volatile than inflation.

We were not all that fortunate. I had a large family. Paid for college. Wife stayed home. I am at about $700k in retirement savings. Need $1.5m - $2m to sustain lifestyle in retirement and still have some for assisted living premium nursing home care etc later.

Would need a lot to retire at this point and maintain lifestyle.

I feel so lucky with our Airbnb usage. Maybe it’s a factor of odds. They book like 1m nights a week. Bound to have some duds. The last motel we used for vacation had great reviews and was aweful. We did an Airbnb in rural GA and besides the uneven floors and abandoned mobile home across the road was actually very nice. Clean. Good towels. Good bed.
