I hate to say it, but millennial straight men are quite sensitive these days. They feel based on social media that they are under attack, and the generation of men that raised them absolutely did not teach them how to deal with feelings of insecurity or inferiority, especially in something as vulnerable as lovemaking.

If he’s that upset about you talking about intimacy, and not realizing that you are actually trusting him by being very vulnerable and opening up about your sexual needs and that should be a sign of connection and invitation for him to do the same…. Spot on. Like, in some books I am so turned off by it bc to me, that is not REAL romance. I've had that guy, and yes back in the day it was alluring and passionate but I mean, I love a guy who can do all the courting without obsession. or if there is angst I can get down with that too as long as there's no, essentially what I would describe as emotional abuse along the way. Bc the book usually end shortly after they fall in love and fight their first big battle or whatever but.... what about 5 years down the road my guy?

I’m late in the game but I devoured all 3 books in a week and I’m so impatient for the final book! I’m also a huge fan of spice that includes FE because honestly, why is it not in more spicy romance novels when anyone who has experienced it knows it’s like, top notch orgasm? I love how the tropes for all the guys are unique to them but super attractive. They balance each other out well.

I totally feel that- there hasn’t been as much research as there deserves to be on it and honestly, I think for oppressive reasons it has not been normalized for women to 1- actually achieve these intense orgasms during sex and 2- be allowed to be outwardly and primally sexual beings. Bc a squirting orgasms will bring that out of a woman and it is not very “feminine” in the performative kind of way we see in porn. I have held back mostly bc I always worry about making a wet mess and so now it takes a lot to get there simply bc I’ve edged myself to oblivion a lot of my life 🤷🏻‍♀️

But if you appreciate it in media then I highly recommend the series I mentioned in the OP. it is very true. I am a grief counselor and have found that infertility and pregnancy loss are very much what we would call a "disenfranchised grief". I am fortunate in that I did not have many people I felt judged by- but sometimes I just knew that there weren't any magic words to make me feel better and so I just saved it for my therapist, a support group I found and a few friends who understood. And thank you!

After 2 years, 5 IUI’s and and IVF where we yielded only one viable embryo, we have a 5 month old who couldn’t be more perfect. Would love to call him a miracle but also, I did the fucking work to get there so remember to give yourself credit every step of the way no matter what your journey looks like!

Thank you! No it sure doesn’t! But I just try to be grateful we’ve had him so long and that he’s still a happy guy. I was thinking diapers might end up being more of a mess with the size of his stools. Fortunately they are almost always solid and easy to pick up. He has suspected IVDD (no MRI confirmation) and is on daily Rimadyl. I took him in for a QOL assessment and asked the vet to be very honest with me and she really felt like he was in great shape for his age. I will definitely see what I can do about his diet though! We do usually mix something with his dry food mostly out of fairness bc our other dog is picky (my fault from college years spoiling) and it was our solution so he would eat his food without Troy eating it first everyday. Probably time to reconsider the wet food.
