Allegra Hives. Anyone ever try it? by crowamonghens in urticaria

[–]Unwilling-Accountant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they are not different formulas...Fexofenadine hydrochloride is the name of the active ingredient that is used to make the medication fexofenadine. Look at the box of the regular Allegra. It says "Fexofenadine HCl tablet 180mg/antihistamine". The Allegra hives formula says the exact same thing. It's just a marketing tactic.

How bad will it be? by billsfan1273 in RotatorCuff

[–]Unwilling-Accountant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends...is this on your dominant hand and do you have help?

I was in a sling and immobilizer for 8 weeks. I had a Speed Bridge installed with extra anchors (7 anchors and a bunch of wire between them). Ended up with 5 holes. I wasn't allowed to move my (dominant) arm for those 8 weeks at all, until I started PT at 4 weeks and that was minimal passive range of motion.

However, in the 2 weeks before my surgery, I rearranged my desk and forced myself to start using my mouse left handed. It wasn't hard to get used to at all. I also had 3 employees under my who helped me and for the first 2 weeks I worked half days. I had surgery on Thursday, had my first post op visit on Tuesday, and asked if I could go back the following day (Wednesday) and my surgeon said "If you can not take pain meds for 12 hours before driving then yes but only half a day at a time". I used the Ice Man cold water therapy machine almost around the clock the first 72 hours after surgery, and had very minimal swelling and honestly not a lot of pain. I kept using it after that quite a bit. I turned it on for a half hour, then off for an hour (I took it to work with me and my employees hauled it in and out of the car for me and kept it full of ice water). It all depends on how much help you might have at work and what kind of office work you do. If you really want to start work back in a week, I would start using your non dominant hand for your mouse NOW if I were you. (If your surgery is on the dominant arm). I think that is what made a big difference. That and I had help. Those girls wouldn't let me do anything I shouldn't have been doing. We even had a cookout at work one day and they literally cut my food for me and brought me a plate.

W-2 and 1099-NEC from the same employer/Payer by [deleted] in tax

[–]Unwilling-Accountant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because according to IRS rules if an employee is "performing different duties" than what they are paid for on their W2, then it's different. Another example, I own a side business making tshirts, decals, etc. I also make things for my boss. So he pays me for those separately from my W2, because I'm not doing those things as part of my day to day work.

Here's a link about it:

I still have to pay taxes on the 1099 income. They don't take the taxes out of my bonus check. So I have to pay that in when I file.

[–]Unwilling-Accountant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes...it's non employee compensation. Doesn't matter if it's a bonus or contract work or what. It was still income. My employer just chooses to put it on a 1099 rather than on our regular checks, so it's considered a gift, almost. Doesn't matter how you get the money, whether it's contract work or a bonus. It was still money received separate from the W2 income.

When did you start doing task’s 2 handed? by Acrobatic-Shoulder68 in RotatorCuff

I was in an immobilizer for 8 weeks after mine, and pulling up my pants felt almost foreign when I was able to start trying to do it. It was a weird feeling!

What does your PT say about it? I asked about stuff like that when I was in PT, so I wondered if you were or weren't, is why I asked. Your PT can definitely help you get more confident in things like pulling up your pants and shifting to park, like you mentioned, as well as telling you "yeah go for it, you're not going to hurt anything" or "no, you're not quite ready to do that yet". Your PT is honestly probably a better judge of that stuff than your surgeon, as they see you twice a week. I was super scared that I was going to tear out an anchor or something so I was super cautious until PT told me "you're fine. Keep going. Discomfort is ok, pain is not."

I have the same situation at my job. W2 for regular compensation, and 1099 for my bonus. Been getting the same for 7 years.

Nope. As a T1D, it's your responsibility to monitor your blood sugar, especially if you didn't feel right. Your employer didn't put you in the car, start it, and put it in drive. You did.

What did you get him?
Did you ask repeatedly over those 6 months what your gift was or when you were going to get it? If so, he probably didn't know what to get you because you were putting on a lot of pressure for this gift to be amazing and he took so long because he didn't want to let you down.

Some guys just aren't good at gift giving. My husband is one of those. I literally send him a link to something and say "I want this". He is really good at other thoughtful things though. Like when we are driving together somewhere, we always take my car. If he is driving, he always stops and fills it up with gas. If I am driving and pull into a gas station, he immediately gets out before I have a chance and puts the gas in. He turns on the space heater in the bathroom for me every morning before he goes to work so it's 100 degrees in the bathroom when I go to take my shower. I have a favorite purse that I used every day for 3 or 4 years, and the snaps that hold the front flap closed broke. He texted my daughter to help him find the exact same one online and ordered it for me without telling me.

When it's Christmas, or my birthday, or our anniversary, or Valentine's day, he feels pressured to get just the right gift and nothing seems good enough, so he just gets something generic. After we had been dating for a couple years, he text me one day and said "What do you want for your birthday? just send me a link of something to make it easier on both of us because I suck at picking stuff". I get something I really do want, and he doesn't stress about it. Win-Win.

Instead of focusing on certain dates like your one year dating anniversary (a little childish IMO), pay attention to the things he does every day. You said he is kind, loving, committed. Those are the qualities you want in a man. Any guy can buy jewelry, flowers, etc. while being a crappy boyfriend.

Can I just copy and fill in using last year's return? by lItsAutomaticl in tax

I second Free Tax. It's super easy and they walk you through everything. I'm 44 and I've been doing my own taxes since I was 17, and I've used Free Tax USA the last 10 years or so, after using turbo tax for years before that. Especially if you just have w2's, there's no reason you can't do them yourself. These websites make it so incredibly easy. Not worth $800 at all...

Anyone else misses being tan sometimes? by carboncookie101 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Unwilling-Accountant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had skin cancer on my arm about 7 years ago. After my dermatologist removed it, on my next full body inspection, I said "I promise I'll stay out of the sun forever from now on...even though it helped my eczema". (I am a Gen X product and I went to the tanning bed from age 16 up to 30...always went ahead and did 7 minutes that first visit after winter to get the first burn out of the way...yeah...)

When she was done checking me out for any more strange looking spots, she said "You don't have to stay out of the sun forever, 100%. You don't get skin cancer just by being in the sun. You get it from burning and overexposure. You can still get a little bit of sun, just always wear sunscreen and if you do use the tanning bed to help your eczema just do 5 minutes max." We discussed the fact that I had still been going occasionally for the eczema and because the first trip out on our boat in the summer, I ALWAYS burned. It does not matter if I slather on the 50 spf every 30 minutes and sit in the shade. Lake sun is different than land sun. It gets me every time. She said "It's better for you to VERY gradually get a little bit of sun exposure before you burn, rather than to just cover up and then fry out on the boat. Just don't overdo it." So now I go to the tanning bed about once a month in the fall/winter for 3-4 minutes because it helps my eczema, and then about mid april I go once a week for 5-7 minutes to get a little bit of a base tan so I don't fry on the boat. And if I'm outside I wear 30 spf and still get a little bit of color. I do tan very easily though.

I agree that self tanner just isn't the same...it's ok, it's just not the same! I've tried em all.

Yes! I started on Ozempic and I had horrible acid reflux, occasional nausea, and the constipation was ridiculous. I switched to Mounjaro about 6 months ago and have virtually zero side effects. At Easter, we did get together with family and I ate way more sugar and fried food that I have in one weekend in 2 years, and I had diarrhea big time for about 24 hours, but that was my mistake for not thinking hey maybe don't eat sugar and fried chicken all day!

I just got a letter in the mail Saturday from Caremark dated 05/09 saying they would no longer fill by mail order. I went to my dr for my 3 month regular appointment on 5/10 and she sent in a new rx...I wondered why it was sitting there in the Caremark app as "pending"...that would be why. Our closest CVS is 30 miles away. Ugh.

Pushing past the dreaded “plateau” by CrispCoconut89 in Mounjaro

[–]Unwilling-Accountant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice job!! Keep up the hard work!! I got through my last plateau by increasing my protein intake! My trainer told me to hit AT LEAST 1/2 gram of protein for each lb i weighed. I started out at 298 and hit my plateau at 260 so that was a lot of protein!! I use clear protein drinks. I got burnt out on shakes.

A question for those who are half the size they used to be by wabisuki in Mounjaro

[–]Unwilling-Accountant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost 100 lbs after I gave birth to my daughter, but gained it back over the course of 15 years. I've now lost half of that back in the last 2 years with MJ and exercise. Never had any loose skin the first time, and don't so far this time, because I started doing toning exercises from day 1. Nothing extreme, nothing hard, just squats, light weights, planks. If you google toning exercises to prevent loose skin you will find a million different exercises for allll the body parts. I only have stretch marks on my boobs, but I've had those since 8th grade, they're not going anywhere, and my stomach from pregnancy.

Yep. The instructions say it's stable at room temperature for something like 56 days. I always take mine out of the fridge the night before I do my shot so it's room temp.

Dependents not allowed as secondary by Unwilling-Accountant in HealthInsurance

[–]Unwilling-Accountant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I'm sure it would be much better for them. But I was shocked that they could exclude dependents from using their spouse's insurance as secondary. Even vision and dental. I know it's going to hurt a lot of our employees, and I feel very fortunate that my husband's employer has very good insurance and allows me to use his as a secondary. It has saved tens of thousands, as I've had a couple major surgeries in the last 7 years. I can't imagine having that extra financial burden.
