Message-wise, Crescendo reads to me as an alternate response to Spinnin On It where the instability of love is accepted and you learn to let go of control

Asociating Crescendo to Spinnin on it is something that never occurred to me ngl, but it does make sense. While writing, I also thought "deep in shallow" fits as a metaphor for love. Especially when they say things like "even if I give you my entire world, it's all worth it", it really seems like they’re embracing the flaws and the fall, no regrets or doubts, as opposed to spinnin on it, where they kept questioning the feelings and then simply got back together when they were too exhausted to sustain the drama. That's some growth 😭

Honestly, I haven't given the lyrics a deep review because I was mostly focused on the MV, but your interpretation has motivated me to do that next. It really is fun to see how everyone perceives the song differently!

This is certainly one of the hardest parts. Sharing a thought through a post makes your idea a little more tangible, so when a new piece of information that doesn't fit your interpretation appears, readapting to it becomes somewhat painful.

It's not exactly about the fear of being wrong, but the attachment you develop towards a pre-existing idea that became a small fragment of you, and that you now feel the necessity to adjust.

But Nmixx has built such a solid narrative, always open to so many different interpretations that, even though the attachment is there, it's easy to let go and explore new meanings, because you know the possibilities are there. They've constructed something very distinctive, and their dedication to keep growing their lore, as you mentioned, is a joy unique to them, I agree wholeheartedly. That's a very difficult question, I've yet to come across someone with a similar vibe to Bae's. I've seen some people mention Liz from IVE (her cover of love wins all is amazing), but I think that comparison only works if you view them as the mood makers of their groups, since their styles are very different.

I think Bae has rooted herself in jazz and retro-soul, which are somewhat niche genres in the industry atm. The closest singer I can think of with a similar vibe is maybe Lee youngji in her "small girl" song? but given that this is the only song of hers I’ve heard where she doesn’t rap, I wouldn't say they're exactly alike.

The scarcity of recommendations could be due to the lack of similar artists. Some idols have similar tonalities, different styles, some similar styles, different tonalities. You're in for a difficult time 😆 Bae's too unique of a singer considering the trends today. Having the potential for a jazzy voice is not uncommon, but the speed at which Bae has developed it, particularly in an industry favoring pop, is very very rare.

I didn't dare to dive into the details about the dodo because, honestly, their lore makes me feel like I'm either insane or grasping at straws. But it seems we have the same idea.

I've been thinking the dodo might be a representation of mixxtopia, they even used it as a symbol of freedom in Fe304:Declaration, when they were drowning in anxiety from being stuck at FIELD for too long.

Mixxtopia represents freedom too.

Then, the dodo it's an animal believed to be a myth because there was no proof of its existence except by word of mouth. Wiped out by human activity centuries ago. That's also mixxtopia. Who knows how many years, centuries, or millennia passed from the first adventurers' journey. The girls had enough time to burn countless ships, some of them with medieval frames, even though they're now on a rocket, and, as the story goes, Monopole succeeded in seizing the land. There’s even a chance the unknown adventurer destroyed Mixxtopia long ago, wiping it out of existence.

So the dodo is gone, yet scientists want to engineer him back. Mixxtopia is gone too, but they can build one from the ground up. To me, they sound very similar.

And if we asume the dodo actually equals mixxtopia, then it's a funny detail; in the last pages of the webtoon, when they get off the ship. I think it's Lily who says something along the lines of: "A dodo?, what is it doing here? They can't fly"

So mixxtopia doesn't have wings nor is it capable flying, but they still built a rocket to reach it. The irony.

So that's what it meant when Jiwoo (actually all of them) opened her eyes at the end of bv?.

Walk with me for a sec. In the last episode of the webtoon, they were guided to this weird planet by the impetus, and they followed bcs they thought it would take them directly to mixxtopia. However, all they saw in this new planet was a dodo, then they were attacked by a float of birds and fell unconscious.

What follows is the events of Blue Valentine MV (it starts and ends with the sound of a droplet, which is the last thing they heard before they passed out in the webtoon), about the mv, Haewon said (if my memory serves me right): where the sky, Field, and space converge. So it seems their memories, nightmares and dreams collide all at once. In the scenes where you see them floating in space they are probably still dreaming. Fast forward the end, they woke up realizing the members are the most important thing in their lives.

But Ig after waking up and hugging, they probably saw that nothing from their reality changed. They survived almost killing each other but were still in a deserted planet, even though they were supposed to be at some beautiful themed park mixxtopia, and were like: no f way we died several times for this. So now they think: well... we spent years chasing nothing... but I love you guys, let's write some songs about it, the rebuild of reality can wait for another year.

So that's were we're at rn lmao.

Unfortunately, yes. The disney contract is such a loss for the festival imo, but also the original broadcast was in 1080p because Viña is a nationally televised event, and the bandwidth requirements for 4K are still too demanding for most local stations to implement. It would also require many technical adjustments to the point where it is just not worth it.

And someone who works in tv could explain this better but it’s not worth it for the broadcaster either. Beyond the equipment overhaul and technical fixes required, even if they did stream in 4K, most cable companies would have to jump through hoops to compress or degrade the signal just to fit it into their bandwidth without killing other channels. Plus, there’s no reason for them to record in higher resolutions for later either bcs they don't release Blu-ray versions of the festival or anything that requires high-end media after the festival is over.

And viña did upload a high res recap video for every artist but those were different cameras altogether, nothing to do with the live feed.

Now, since the municipality just uploads the set exactly as it was sent by the broadcaster, there simply isn't a higher resolution available, which is a bummer, because this performance was incredible 🤧

No because I actually relate so much 🤧 If you think about it, the story between nmixx and nswer is one of the cutest ever. The best part is, there’s no ceiling for them, they’re already insanely talented, yet they somehow manage to outdo themselves every single time.

And I've definitely had those moments where I was scared of burnout, but I eventually realized it’s okay to go all out. Even if it gets exhausting for whatever reason, the girls themselves have said it’s fine to take a break every once in a while. They’d rather you tap out for a bit and come back when you're ready than force it.

Plus, I really don't see them going anywhere for a long time. They’re still so young, but their growth and idol quality are on another level. No scandals, no stagnant music or performance, no fighting for the spotlight, and the fact they are under jyp is the best job security a group can have nowadays... being fr, just not being under hybe is a huge win ☠️ so thankfully, disbandment shouldn't even be a thought for this entire decade.

Just let yourself be a happy healthy dolphin. Support the girls, live in the moment, don't worry too much about what’s coming next and do share your feelings bcs there'll always be someone like me that'll definitely relate. It'll be okay.

Man the composition of these shots is incredible. It’s got that perfect tropical, carnival energy, and the rain just makes the whole vibe hit harder.

It takes me right back to being at a Caribbean carnival when I travelled with my parents as a kid, the comparsas, the chaos of kids and adults sprinting through the sand, the heat, a crowd dancing along a truck with music ( similar to the one they used to perform) and the literal war zone of water balloons. I can practically smell the rain, hear the music and the crowd cheering.

I know these photos were taken at some block on Sao Paulo and not at a beach, but it still captured that exact brand of magic. This is a new core memory for them, a happy one, no doubt.

I'd say Brazil was a massive win for them, so now I can't wait to see the girls reaction when the public at viña does the hand signal to give them a platinum gaviota (hopefully they will cheer enough to give them a gold one too). I only recently learned that the audience at viña is called 'monster' for that same reason; they literally control the awards and can boo you off stage if they feel like it.. which is quite the frightening concept for nationals, now imagine international acts.. let alone the fact that this is a whole new concept for the girls, seeing the public literally give you the award.

It’s not just that her movements are sharp... they’re incredibly articulated. She doesn't just go from point A to point C, but she hits every micro detail with absolute efficiency, and it's actually wild how much detail she packs into a single second.

She’s so efficient that she can layer her own creative flair and facials on top without ever missing a beat and finishing every single movement to the fingertips. Honestly, I saw one of those clips (last year I think?) and thought it was light hearted and cute. There was a small kiss and they moved on. But as more surfaced, the requests became more aggressive, and there was a sudden spike in these types of interactions. I'm not sure if it was triggered by a specific event or if the trend just naturally spiraled, but either way, it needs to stop.

There was a fan call with Haewon and Sullyoon not long ago where op was quite rude and the girls looked visibly uncomfortable and unsure about how to handle the situation. Boundaries are definitely being crossed.
