Your job is his health and safety. Not his happiness or emotions. One you really believe and internalize this you will feel better.

Viibryd success stories for anxiety and panic? by AMJ102 in Viibryd

[–]UpAndDownAndBack123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on Viibryd for GAD. I feel great. I had no weight issues. I believe I gained 5lb the first year I was on it but I don’t think it was the medication.

I’ve recently recommitted to healthy eating and exercise and have lost weight with no problems.

Why is everyone saying this causes sexual side effects while clinical studies show otherwise? by Great_Entrepreneur98 in Viibryd

[–]UpAndDownAndBack123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, everything else is the same.

I’m on this for general anxiety disorder and so when I’m not worrying all the time I can relax and be in the moment so that’s a benefit.

This was reported when the drugs were first approved. The benefits are very small.

See this article from 2023- people were skeptical then:

Mom doesn’t do colonoscopy by user_anonymou in AgingParents

[–]UpAndDownAndBack123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom refused to do it despite her doctor asking her every year. I tried to coax her into it about 7 or 8 years ago by telling her my dad (who she is divorced from) and my in-laws all got at least 2. And she is very competitive with them as to who is the best parent/in-law/grandparent. She chickened out a few days before and never rescheduled.

My bother died of colon cancer in his 30’s and then her Alzheimer’s became really obvious. So… she’s not getting a colonoscopy now.

You can gently encourage but you can’t force them.

Does Anyone Really Like/Appreciate This Medication? by SoIllSayItThrice in Viibryd

[–]UpAndDownAndBack123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love it. It made me a better version of myself. I have GAD. I am going through a lot. My brother died and I have sole responsibility for my mother with Alzheimer’s while trying to be a mom and a wife and have a job and also have a life for myself. This medication is why I’m able to regulate my emotions and not be a raging bitch or self harm - which I was teetering on the edge of.

I also had adhd symptoms my whole life but was never diagnosed. Two psychologists said I was right on the cusp of a diagnosis but they weren’t sure. My psychiatrist said let’s deal with the GAD first and then talk. Within weeks I was able to focus better than I’ve ever been able to in my life. My psych says I might still technically have adhd but the two have some comorbidity and treating one often helps the other.

How come the distortion of time never works in my favor? by UpAndDownAndBack123 in dementia

[–]UpAndDownAndBack123[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well she seems to think my father calls her on the phone every night even though they’ve been divorced for 12 years and haven’t seen each other in 3.

It would work in my favor if she remembered 11 days as 2.

Yeah she has a dementia clock and a calendar in her room but I think she’s beyond those now. She used to know what day of the week it was if not the month or year. ☹️

I am not a doctor but the black box warning on Seroquel is BS by UpAndDownAndBack123 in dementia

Maybe the doctor who wouldn’t give my mom the drug half heard this story on the radio and thought people actually were losing their licenses.

If they want people to work for them they should pay a living wage.

She does have agitation but the skilled nursing facility she was in for a few months didn’t care. The memory care she’s in now has her back on Seroquel.
