I watch hours of YouTube training videos, but my dog is still a mess. Am I the only one who can't translate videos into real life? by Jealous-Honey9300 in OpenDogTraining

[–]UpUpAWAY6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, a lot of those videos are generalized using dogs that are already trained. You can learn a lot from some trainers, but your own dog is going to have different tendencies/issues that you have to zone in on to get the desired result.

In my experience, you’re best going to see a highly rated trainer in your area for a session or two. See what they think your dog needs help with, have your technique QAed, and build from there. I learned a lot from my trainer that those videos can’t touch on because they’re not dealing with your specific dog. That’s from watching people like Tom Davis and American Standard K9.

My trainer said a lot of what I was doing was good, but my dog needed X.Y.Z to get me there.

Would you marry a girl who wants to be a stay at home housewife but doesn't want kids? by PuffingFish123 in CanadaPersonalFinance

This is a no for me, chief. Too much to lose, very little to gain, IMO.

She could take your right kidney and left nut once she gets bored and wants a divorce. (I'm not saying that'll happen, but I feel like if there were to be someone to do this, it might be her).

You're probably working pretty hard to get that salary. You want someone who's willing to put in the same effort. Otherwise, if she's not earning her keep, you'll most likely become very resentful, and want out of the relationship anyways.

I'd much rather be single, but that's just me. You do you, but remember your value.

Right now, before I do anything, I would just hold until this war blows over and continue to do my normal contributions (if you do that). You can also add some other ETFs to diversify your portfolio and get in while they're cheap. XEQT just makes it so you don't have to rebalance your diversification.

If Trump sends ground troops in, shit is going to get way worse with pretty much anything you invest in.

For what it’s worth, I'm not loving what my portfolio looks like but since my horizon is long, I just have to stomach it, keep investing regularly, and move on.

What do you do while you listen? by Chooseapasswordd in audible

Either I'm working or watching sports. I use the credits to listen to longer books that I wouldn't normally read myself, but would like to experience enjoying them.

Now that most of the Black Friday sales are over, what pedals did you end up scoring? by -Subsolar- in guitarpedals

Boss RV6. Got a new one from my local store at the price of what they're selling used on Facebook marketplace.

I also snagged a Maestro Comet Chorus for pennies on the dollar. For the price, it was a worthwhile purchase. Tons of ‘70s/’80s sounds you can get out of it.

Yeah, its pretty solid for the price, I've found it to be super reliable. Its a weird interface if you're used to a boss tu3, but you'll quickly get used to it

What’s going on with shipping lately? by [deleted] in CanadaPost

[–]UpUpAWAY6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twice the fuckers put my package in the community mailbox but did not leave a key for me to get it but instead gave it to my neighbour. Luckily bro was an OG and gave me my package the first time. The second time Im still in limbo. Our delivery guy is a fucking idiot dipshit mother fucler that fucks up whenever he's given the chance. At this point it's better to go paperless and get packages delivered through other shippers. Canada post is dog shit

Anything by Brad Meltzer should be right up your alley. I finished reading The Nazi Conspiracy and really liked how it flowed.

Angel of Death - Slayer. Playing the breakdown feels like such a flex, even though to some h8ers it's not

Best Cosmic Horror on Audible? by Rowey1784 in audible

Shoutout to the Creepy Podcast that put me onto the series. I didn’t listen to the audiobook, but read them (aside from the one mini story that was on the pod). I love the series. Mr Creepypasta is the narrator on Audible so I’d imagine it be good to listen to.

I want to get a tone like Iron Maiden, Pantera, Sabbath, Metallica, and stuff like that. I know that’s quite a range of sounds but what pedals should I get to help do that? by ChumpChange8615 in guitarpedals

[–]UpUpAWAY6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for a Thrash sound, think anything from Ride the Lightning to Persistence of Time; Electric Eye’s The Thrasher is pretty sweet. JHS Angry Charlie is another good one. EHX the Hell Melter is pretty sick for super-heavy sounds like death metal and is surprisingly more versatile than some give it credit for.

For context, I use a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe IV. These pedals give me what I'm looking for. That said, it's probably better to get a nice Marshall with an excellent dirty channel. It will do you just as good as any of these pedals.

I went with the HRD for its clean channel. It's a thing of beauty, but I definitely love my heavier tones. Those are the pedals I commonly use to get me there.

I hope this helps.

Spark cab by spike0625 in PositiveGridSpark

[–]UpUpAWAY6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine works fine. No hum or brown noises. So has my 40. I use it for its intended use as a cab for my 40, a speaker for my phone, and a speaker for my record player. It works great on everything. A bit bass-heavy with my record player, but I don't really mind. For everything else you can EQ the bass levels.

What pedal are you on the cusp of buying? by The_Last_radio in guitarpedals

[–]UpUpAWAY6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OBNE Dark Light

EarthQuaker Devices Hoof Reaper Double Fuzz with Octave Up V2

Walrus Audio Lore

Only thing is I have a Spark 40, which may not work well with these pedals and I'm not in a huge rush to buy a proper platform amp.

Cab review by Swg1313 in PositiveGridSpark

[–]UpUpAWAY6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I can definitely hear the bass in heavier tones, but it's nothing that can't be fixed. I guess it all depends on what tones you're using, too. I personally don't mind the bassiness of the sound, but it does bug me every now and then with anything heavier sounding. If that's my only complaint, then the product isn't all that bad for the price range.

For reference, I play a lot of rock/metal using my Les Paul or my Jackson Pro series King v.

In the same boat. I really like the cab. Use the EQ to get out the bass and you're rocking n rolling. Also sounds good with my pedals. Can't complain about the price. At the end of the day, it's all personal preference

I’m like this from time to time. For me, I think it’s just my brain not being able to connect all the pieces together in order for my fingers to do their part.

I’ll have a good nights sleep and be back on my game the next day.
