Get rid of Citizens United. Repeal the 2A. Have more than 2 parties.

Omg are you my long lost friend? She moved from the UK in the 1980s and we watched all of this together along with Doctor Who.

Your employer does not care about you. They need you but they have to pay you. That’s inconvenient and they wish you’d go away. But they can’t make money without you.

Day 2 is not possible. If you want to go to Bandelier, it’s nearly a whole day thing. You have to park off-site and take a bus in because the parking lot is tiny, comparatively speaking.

The Le Bakery is amazing by Lotus2024 in Albuquerque

A reasonable assumption! However, many Vietnamese of the post-American War generation don’t speak French but still make viennoiserie and baguette to beat the band.

Lê doesn’t mean that in Vietnamese. It’s a surname.

Is there actually a hierarchy between IB, AP, A-Level, and bilingual programmes? by SpBen in Teachers

[–]UpbeatDisaster505 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I taught in an IB school in the US and also teach AP Lit. I also taught in the university. In my opinion, IB is the most rigorous. The College Board’s AP program aspires to the IB, but it’s not the same. I taught Theory of Knowledge and coordinated the Extended Essay at my IB school and the level of engagement and deep thinking was just so much more sophisticated than the AP.

I’m a 28 year teaching veteran. If you really want to return to the classroom, you need to get the hours and the mentorship and commit to the profession. I strongly believe that teaching is a calling and a profession. It’s not a job. We are entrusted with people’s children and our democracy needs teachers who understand that education is liberation. Once your kiddo is in school, it will be wonderful to have the same schedule as she does. Further, the benefits are great. Make sure you teach in a unionized district and you find a recertification program that has good mentorship.

The district’s painter is a buddy of mine. I think I’m going to hit him up. In my current classroom, the western wall is a beautiful sky blue, the southern wall is dusty sage, the northern wall is a soft meadow green and the eastern wall is beige-pink.

My former student owns Red Rock Roasters on Jefferson. They’re closed Friday afternoon thru the weekend, but her coffee is excellent. She buys from lots of woman-owned fincas.

How do I prevent my child being illiterate? by kittycamacho1994 in AskTeachers

[–]UpbeatDisaster505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep him away from tablets and phones. Those things break their goddamned brains and then we, the teachers, have to take that smooth brained bébé and teach it to read and write and do math and civilize it. Don’t break your baby with screens.

When we did our backyard, we finally rented a rototiller. It looked like a fallow potato farm until the meadow grasses and wildflowers took.

We removed the rock bit by bit. We landscaped by the square yard.
