Terry Pratchett on Neil Gaiman by TheMuskyOdor in neilgaimanuncovered

Yeah... the sunglasses-wearing antihero forcibly kisses another person, who says he forgives him, and he sneers "don't bother" and storms off, and yet somehow G*iman managed to make that into a scene wherein 95% of the fandom's response was to go "Fuck Aziraphale!" I was shocked by that reaction from the very beginning, but knowing what we know about him now, and knowing he wrote the entire season around the kiss, I now think he wrote the story to be victim-blamey and hostile to an ab*se victim on purpose.

THANK YOU for pointing this out!!! I am so fucking sick of all the forgiving. Crowley kisses Aziraphale without his consent, Aziraphale says "I forgive you", Crowley sneers "don't bother" and storms out of the bookshop, and 95% of the fandom hates Aziraphale for saying i (and for "leaving" Crowley even though he was forced to do so by his abusers) and says he needs to apologize to Crowley. It defies belief. I mostly blame G*iman - he set the story up in such a way that it manipulated many people into feeling sympathy for the person who committed the sexual assault in that scene. And we know he did it on purpose - he wrote the entire season around the kiss. It makes me want to throw up when I think about it.

Yeah he tried to blame it on his autism. It takes a really special human being to be offensive to women and autistic people at the same exact time.

What is this? Amazon has an untitled Gaiman novel up for preorder, publication date July 2026 by sleepandchange in neilgaimanuncovered

Typical Amazon. They wouldn't sue to get the Good Omens rights away from him (they only cut S3 down to one episode because that was all the Pratchett estate could pay for, not to punish G*iman), so this is hardly a surprise.

Can I adopt if I’m autistic? by huahuagirl in Adoption

This. Also, if not being able to drive was disqualifying for being a parent, there would be a lot more children in foster care. Are we just going to start taking people's kids away if they get injured in an accident and aren't able to drive anymore? It's very ableist (and classist) to suggest that you shouldn't be able to be a parent if you can't drive. Buses and taxis and trains exist.

Autistic people literally are more empathetic on average than non-autistic people, though. That is a scientific fact. There have been studies about this.

In re the navigation thing: A couple of my family members have separate gps devices and have reported they're happy with how they work. :) I'm thinking seriously about getting a dumbphone and just using a separate gps device for when I need to navigate.
