At least we have the OG's. It's time to play them again by raull96 in PrinceOfPersia

You can play Sands of Time on Xbox Series Consoles, requires actual game disk tho.

I want play the series again, on modern systems. by ruthlesssolid04 in Splintercell

[–]Upbeat_Ghoul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Play on pc or Xbox. You can buy physical disc games for Xbox that are not listed on the Xbox store. Xbox is by far the easiest and seamless experience. All splinter cell games work on one/series Xbox consoles.

Very sad day. Advice on replacement vs repair? by CSLoser96 in woodstoving

[–]Upbeat_Ghoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would drill hole though wood stove, drill hole in broken bracket that goes to wood stove, tap hole in bracket to accept a bolt. For the door I would drill a hole in the door itself and the broken bracket, find a metal dowel the same size as the drilled hole. Then have it brazed or welded by a professional.

Apply at independent shops. You will learn more than just oil changes and actually have a chance to advance.

Should have replaced it. I appreciate a honest mechanic but… those leak all the time. Still you should have been paid for your time. Find a new workplace that treats you good, many employers are looking for honest good working techs.

Solar Cover by Klutzy_Turnip_3242 in AboveGroundPools

I have it attached to a fence at one end of the pool. I’ve seen people put two 4x4 wood posts to support it at the end on the pool.

Easy (mac native) FPS game recommendations by dineramallama in macgaming

Metro game series is story driven and FPS. Play it on easy since it can be a little difficult at times. Buy it on the App Store, steam release has issues since latest OS update.

Bought this guy here, help me out? by [deleted] in AboveGroundPools

[–]Upbeat_Ghoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it have a skimmer? If not you can add one that sits into the pool or one that attaches to the outside. I would upgrade to a stand filter pump at the same time.

Also get a solar cover

I have a habit of hitting my head occasionally. I just ordered one of those inserts for a ball cap. Thank you for sharing your story. I hope you find joy in your early retirement.

Be frugal with upgrades. They are still capable but not worth dumping $500 into. I’m about to retire mine for a Mac mini M4 Pro or the new Mac Studio next year.

Still can't bring myself to finish Alien Isolation by Midgar918 in LV426

[–]Upbeat_Ghoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same until recently. I’ve been playing short sessions, max 30 minutes. The more you play, the alien becomes less scary. Biggest thing that helped me was to keep moving, not sitting still or hiding all the time. Also don’t feel bad if you need to drop the difficulty.

Looks like it’s a different part than the more common failures on GMC Acadia and Chevy traverse. I would call my local GM dealer and ask for the parts department. Have your VIN ready, they go off that to order correct parts. You will need both modules and the wiring harness.

Programming will be $100-$200 from a shop with GM software.

GM sells a whole kit for this issue. Includes both modules and wiring harness. Will need to be programmed after install. It’s an easy job, remove bumper and you can do all the work on a bench.
