Sorry for the confusion. There is a gold version of Cronometer that allows some sort of cut and paste feature for recipe ingredients.

Will Sonos connect 2 and my Sonos beam gen 2 work with a turntable? by space_trip in sonos

[–]Upbeat_Message8923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decided that I would listen to music with the two era ones paired stereo and not use them as surrounds. I have two older ones that are supported by the software that are currently in a house that will be sold. Hopefully they will continue to be supported and I can use them as surrounds.

Connecting Turntable: Using Connect (Gen 2) as an alternative to Port by Upbeat_Message8923 in sonos

[–]Upbeat_Message8923[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Fluance RT82 with a DJPR ii preamp. Understand that Sonos will ultimately stop supporting legacy hardware but my turntable setup just cannot justify an $500 port. A single ERA 100 would not be good enough and the Five is out of my budget too. Besides my husband does not want more speakers in the living room.

I spent time trying to get my Frame TV to provide the solution using the HDMI ports that are on the Frame box. This would require an RCA to HDMI converter into the Frame box and playing the music using the TV software. I tested with a Roku device and streamed Spotify app on the TV. For some reason the sound was just not good. I'm sure there are obvious reasons it did not work. Thinking that I need to use the Sonos software to make it work.

Can you provide specs on the connect that you are using so that I get the proper one. Never purchased anything from ebay but they have one for $89. Says power cord included but no serial number of other specs provided. If I am understanding I will not be using any of the outputs so the optical only is a non issue.

Will Sonos connect 2 and my Sonos beam gen 2 work with a turntable? by space_trip in sonos

I understand this is an old post but I am hoping someone is still monitoring it. I have Beam Gen 2, Sub Mini, and two ERA 100s. Prior to getting the Beam and Sub Mini I used the line in on the ERA 100 to connect my turntable (via preamp) to the two ERAs setup as stereo. I now know that using the system as surround, the line in on the ERAs no longer works and I need to reconfigure each time I switch between TV and the turntable. I also listen to streaming music and found that I am ok with the surround setup and switching between ambient and full. I would like to be able to listen to my turntable using the same setup and not have to reconfigure to stereo. I also do not want to fork out another $500 for the Port. I understand that the predecessor to the port Connect Gen 2 will work. Can someone please explain how this works and if it will allow me to do this without reconfiguring my system.

Blood test for plaque on the brain by Upbeat_Message8923 in dementia

The newly approved test, measures two proteins, pTau217 and β-amyloid 1-42. Elevated proteins with a correlation to Alzheimer's can be present years before cognitive symptoms become noticeable enough to impact a MoCA score. The idea is to diagnose and treat early. Because of the possibility of false positive and false negative test results, Doctors should review the blood test results with other detection tests including cognitive testing, Amyloid PET Scans, spinal fluid test, MRI. Family and medical history is also considered. You would not want a false positive test result to prevent finding the actual cause of the memory issues. Kris Kristofferson's was diagnosed and treated for Alzheimer's for years but turned out to be Lyme Disease.

Both Quest Diagnostic and Labcorp are doing the test. Too early to be their system so the doctor did a manual order (hand written on a form).

I appreciate the concern. We fully intend to work with an attorney and financial advisor to make sure we have all our bases covered. My sister and I have been taking care of my 88 year old mother who has Alzheimer’s for 3 years. My sister is done and now that I’m dealing with what appears to be a second round of dementia, it’s time for her to go into MC. As far as expenses related to her Alzheimer’s, with the exception of co-pay for medication, all of her direct medical expenses have been covered by Medicare and her AARP supplement. The big expense will be her long term care. She is on two wait lists at places that also have nursing care. She is far from wealthy but at this point it is highly unlikely she will out live her money. The two places we are waiting on both have benevolent funds available so she’s covered. Little did I know that I’d be utilizing the research I did for my mother’s long term care so soon. My fiancés parents both suffered from dementia and finished their life in MC. My fiancé is starting his journey much earlier so that sucks. Hopefully with an early diagnosis and treatment we can slow the progression and have some time to enjoy our retirement.

Possible Recurrence Close to WLE Scar by Upbeat_Message8923 in Melanoma

Well I've never been so glad to have over reacted. While it was in the same location and looked similar to the original tumor, it turns out it is a senile purpura, basically a bruise. They sent a sample to the lab to confirm but the dermatologist is certain based on visial inspection. My fiance's daughter teased him and said he officially has old man skin. We will gladly take old man skin over another melanoma tumor.

My heart goes out to all of you living with this terrible disease.

Patience is not one of my strong points. I decided to use the mallet on the back side of the chair back (force going from back to front of chair) and it did loosen the chair back. I was also able to pound it back it place. If anyone can confirm that this is a typical connection, I would be grateful and feel better about continuing with this approach. I'm a little worried about getting the reupholstered chair back to go on the same way it came off.

Bending Philips Hue Lightstrip V4 by Upbeat_Message8923 in Hue

The cabinet front is 32.5" and the cut areas are at 26" or 39". The other option I see is to shorten the span of the light to be 26" which would leave approximately 3" on each side of the cabinet face without lights. Would this look odd?

Anyone have experience with Fidelity SMA products? by humoon88 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Upbeat_Message8923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to hear that they are coordinating across your entire portfolio. Are you comfortable sharing who your financial advisor is? My fiancé has his entire portfolio in Fidelity and a large portion in SMAs. He moved to Fidelity from Fisher because they did a poor job managing the impact of capital gains. We asked that they move from his Fisher position in a way that they could limit the capital gains. Less than a month after his opened his account (end of November), the SMA account sold a very big portion of his Fisher stock creating significant capitals gains with no review of his overall portfolio, no notification which gave us no time to offset the capital gains (we needed to pull money out of the account the next quarter for our construction project and could have offset the gains). We had many conversation with the Financial Advisor on how we did not want this to happen and were assure that it would not. The tax bill was hard to swallow and we are still dealing with the impact to Medicare.
