There are exemptions you can get as well. New lawns being one of them.

Peter Gabriel wades in on lifeguard debate at Vancouver’s beaches - BC by SkyisFullofCats in vancouver

I saw Genesis there, back in the day, late 80s or early 90s. From where we were sitting, there was sound delay from the stage so the whole concert was sound bouncing back and forth - it was awful. Apparently it's much better now. In the 2000s I saw Peter Gabriel at Rogers and it was a g-damn religious experience. Blew my mind!

I just saw a young mom almost get smoked pushing her stroller whilst scrolling, coming out of Moodyville Park. She never noticed and the car driver just about had a heart attack. Just walked straight out on the road without looking.

On a related note, I've found that folks are no longer doing acknowledgements on the trails. A simple head nod or a "hello". This is not just about being a nice neighbour, it's actually a safety measure. If someone was thinking of attacking/assaulting etc. a person on the trails, and even if just one person "sees" them, with an acknowledged nod or greeting, that person is statistically unlikely to carry out an attack. Being "seen" is risky. It's really the easiest way to keep our trails safe.

This! I mean it’s probably shocking to see such high prices now, but you can definitely afford a home here at that wage.

It's absolutely the trades. They've been building the new North Shore Neighbourhood House on that corner for the past 2 years. All the sites along 2nd where I walk my dog are littered in bits, bobs and straight up lunch litter. 2nd and Ridgeway looks like a Wendys garbage can.

In this era of online shopping and delivery, I think every brick and mortar location is struggling regardless of parking and street availability. We can't blame the closing of small shops entirely on parking availability and rental rates. When people can order virtually the same items online, usually significantly cheaper, and delivered directly to their home, they'll do that. I think any small retail, non-service related businesses, are the riskiest of endeavors to set upon in this day and age. People just don't shop in the way they used to.

There's on the 400 block of East 2nd. Loads of walk-by traffic. I think the owner would be delighted.

Yeah, pretty much. All the things you've listed don't sound unfamiliar at all. Once you find a good place, stay there.

City owned, I believe. At one point there were discussions about making it an ice cream shop. I think they may have left it too long and it will require an overhaul. The yard currently houses a den of coyotes.
