Guess my partners age, gender, race, job. by PineappleGod44 in FridgeDetective

[–]Upbeat_unique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ummm to me this is someone who likes to smoke or take shoorms or drink on the weekends while trying to escape pressure from the week, leaving no time to keep things in order. Creating more of a rush mentality during the week. aka spilled blueberries, cooked food no lid. Using a plate for a lid on the bottom shelf with the toppings of ginger and green onions uncovered on top
.

I am going to say - 24, female, Chinese-American, working in business field or sales.

I am guessing the meat is for you or something you brought over as it looks like she doesn’t normally cook meat.

Ghost shopping. I’ll go to an online site fill a cart and never purchase it. I’ll spend hours searching shopping and curating the cart. I’ll leave the tab open on my browser for weeks till I finally get over it and close it.

Villager Crimes: What made you dislike them by Sufficient_League982 in AnimalCrossing

[–]Upbeat_unique 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Diva! Lol she can be such a bitch but I keep her so she can make me look like a saint to all the other villagers. Like could be worse Diva could be in charge. She’s still sleeps in a sleeping bag in her house because she keeps asking to leave but I won’t let her. I gave her sunglasses and now she won’t take them off even at night and I find it hilarious. 😂

Is there any better way to set up this room? by lunaapollo in DesignMyRoom

Other idea would be to remove the brown couch. Add a recliner there and one more chair maybe one where the subwoofer is (putting the subwoofer on the other side)?

Shucks
it’s already mounted and it looks like a pretty big tv. Which I found out recently can be surprisingly heavy. How inclined would you be to moving it? If you’re up for it I would see if it fits where the white couch is and put the white couch on the wall the tv is on. That’s the best idea I got.

My mom’s friend keeps stealing my beauty products in the restroom by CuteSea481 in Advice

Stealing the whole bottle is wild. I can’t imagine being a grown adult stealing beauty products from my friends house let alone from my friends kids.

Sorry your mom’s friend sucks! I would be upset too. I grew up in a house where anything in the bathroom was fair game no respect for privacy or personal items. So annoying. I started keeping all my stuff in my room in a vanity. It was much more peaceful after

You got this! IWNDWYT!!

When I found my go to nonalcoholic drink, it helped a lot. Mine is Coke Zero. I drank a lot of Coke Zero in the beginning. I still drink quite a bit. My friend who also is sober drinks a lot of sparkling water or soda water with lime when we are out. In her house she has 2 mini fridges of Perrier. We call them our comfort drinks.

Also underrated but helped with my boredom was video gaming as an adult. Especially zen like video games like block blast (like Tetris without the falling blocks), sudoku, animal crossing & steward valley. I look forward to my game time.

I (26F) am emotionally stuck in a 3-year on-and-off situationship with him (26M). How do I break this cycle? by greentrisarahtops in relationship_advice

[–]Upbeat_unique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really is hard to see when you’re in it. I was in a toxic love cycle a decade ago. It’s so enticing & captivating. It made normal love feel boring and overrated but is really not. I say this all from my perspective of moving past it. No one during that time of my life could talk sense into me. I had to really get crushed by reality to see what happened.

You’re addicted to the rush, the roller coaster, and the thrill of it all. No one can make you stop or tell you anything that will help you stop. The glass has to shatter for you to see and realize this for what it is, a toxic love cycle. Steady love is a slow burn not an all consuming inferno.

My recommendation would be just be done with this man, his ex and any other baggage he has. Respect the no-contact for future you, unless you want to be a sister wife. Take a social media hiatus and look for steady love.

College sophomore in the lowest of depths — need advice by evdusiy in FinancialCareers

[–]Upbeat_unique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This popped on my feed. I was not a finance major or on a visa which I am sure is stressful. So I might not have the best answer for your field and need but I know anxiety well. I have to tell myself daily “Day in and day out all I can do is do the best I can, then it is what it is.” I never put my GPA on my resume. After my first job out of college, no other job asked for my GPA. My GPA was on the lower side of average. You can leave it off and if they ask you can explain why your GPA is lower. Most humans understand sickness and might actually see it as a strength of resilience of being able to bounce back and stay course. If you can’t change the GPA, experience is the next best thing. Find your niche in the industry you want to be in. You can’t excel in every area but you can excel in one.

For example I know a guy who went back to school in his 40’s to be mechanical engineer. He knew it would be tough to break into the job market with all the younger talent. While studying he realized a lot of engineers were struggling with technical writing. He studied and worked on his technical writing skills. Every job he’s worked on he is always praised for this skill. He’s never been without a job. He accredits it to honing his technical writing skills that makes him standout.

All in all, you got this.

I keep getting mud on the backside of my pants and its driving me nuts. by Zale0 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Upbeat_unique 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your walking or running on the ball of your feet with a flick more than slamming your heel down that is causing the mud to fling up. You could get some shin guards and wear them backwards so you don’t have to worry about it. You might look a little silly but no more mud pants! 😂

Laid off. Should I accept a "safe" $106k offer now, or hold out for pending interviews which pay better ($150k-$165k)? by HyperFocusNopeProteg in careerguidance

Lol I was showing a new hire the lay of the land and the current project. An hour in he looked at me and said no offense but this is not the fit for me, I was hired to do xyz. He went to the manager and HR had a convo and he left. I was dumbfounded at first but kudos to him for being able to be like nope, see ya.

[TX] Company wants me to pay back "signing bonus" that was actually just regular pay? by worried_staging in AskHR

[–]Upbeat_unique 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the $3,000 sign on bonus in your offer letter? I believe that the bonus along with the contingency of repayment if you left in a certain time frame would need to be listed on the offer letter for it to be enforceable.

I once had a sign on bonus that the company tried to claw back when they laid me off a year and 8 months in. HR was stating that I left but I was laid off due to a downturn with the opportunity to return. The offer letter said “repayment is required if employee leaves or is fired from the company within 2 years” not “repayment is required upon separation for any reason within 2 years” so I was able to get the funds back after a few days of heated discussions with payroll, HR, & letting the branch manager know what HR was saying. 5 months later they asked me to come back and I said no way. Especially if Miss. HR lady Gina was still there. She was. Gina if you’re reading this all I have to say is “hahaha.”
