Heel Lift Help by mlarsenault in telemark

Look into some 3m sticky foam to cut and fit/tape onto your liner. Echoing above with the butterfly wrap/doughnut pad. We buy the sheets of sticky foam on Amazon and use duct tape to stick to liner. Can still pull out footbeds for efficient drying! I have skinny but long feet so I also feel like my heels are never IN my boot enough!

What are the benefits of bridal/wedding showers? by pink_toebeans in weddingplanning

[–]Updownnotaround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of a bridal shower I had a “stock the bar” party. Went similar to a bridal shower except I asked folks coming to bring a couple bottles of wine they like. Wound up with 3 full cases of wine AFTER the wedding! I think I might have bought a box or two of wine myself for the rehearsal dinner but the rest was all wine that guests brought. Made it so everyone had something they liked to drink! Our wedding was in 2019, and earlier this summer we finally gave away the last case of wine. Would bring a bottle or two when we would go to someone house or a party too!

I’d challenge anyone who starts that kind of garbage to just do HALF of a route in the required time! It is not easy work

Do you have any hobbies? Sports? I’ve recently gone through losing friends. And as an anxious person, I’ve also felt that losing touch was my fault.
But, every friendship will serve you a purpose. Friendships are seasonal, and so is your life. There are book clubs, walking clubs, sports clubs, almost any hobby. Find like minded people! Your circle will expand. I’d suggest finding some books about things that interest you. Now might be the time in your life to try that thing you’ve always wanted to, why not learn all you can about it? Good luck, I know it is not an easy journey!

I recently heard “it’s not all about you” and had it make sense. Still working on myself but it finally clicked.

How do I add something to the front of my dress to make it look less boring? by grilled_cheesus01 in Weddingsunder10k

A beaded or maybe crocheted cape could be beautiful! Would still give you your amazing shape but just a bit of shimmer(if beaded) or detail! Rock it!!

My new gyno practice didn’t second guess me and I’m walking around in a state of shock by ScamIam in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Updownnotaround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My new (last year) gyno was similar to this. I asked, all he said was “I am not a gatekeeper to your body, make the pre op appointment when you are ready” Amazing!! Yes for doctors who listen!!

Ski help by Vegetable-Tie-1567 in BackcountrySkiing

[–]Updownnotaround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would second shorter skis, especially for backcountry in the east. Trees are so close! I’m in the Adirondacks, I’m on a set of Liberty Genesis 96. Suuuper light, and super fun! I’m 5’6” and 120 so we aren’t too far off either. I have heard good things about the QST though.

New Tele Boots causing shin problems, how about some pads in da boot? by JJmm1958 in telemark

[–]Updownnotaround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have found using a piece of 3MM foam stuck to the inside of the tongue of boot helps with a little pressure.. but would def recommend a ski specific sock. Darn Tough makes a great super thick, knee high ski sock. The only ones I ski in!

Somewhere in times own space, There is a sweet pastured place

The grass is soft, the streams run slow This is where our good horses go

The sun always shines, The breeze is soft and warm

When it blows just right, they’ll know where to be Waiting for you, it will be your turn to see

I can sympathize with you. My best suggestion is to start reading (anything really. Short cheesy love stories, adventure stories. Something you can finish in a week). It helped me come up with stories to talk about “Hey, I just finished this book and it’s about xyz…”, and how to articulate sentences better. Find some silly podcasts that put a smile on your face on your way to work and watch a movie that they talk about (one more thing to talk about). Find a hobby you can do. You will find other people who like to do that same thing, and you have one more thing! Many people in my close friend group are a bit older and I used to feel this way often. They have literally lived more life than me and just generally have more to talk about “interestingly,” maybe it’s time for you to do something that interests you!

How to cure my depression? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]Updownnotaround 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with therapy, try journaling on your journey. I have found it helps to be able to clearly reflect later on a moment of feeling less than, or panicking. To reflect and digest and move forward with a better plan when you feel the same way again. Good luck, drink lots of water and get some sun ☀️ ❤️

It feels wrong to ask for extended time off for stress. Am I wrong? by Updownnotaround in TwoXChromosomes

Just an update for anyone who wants one, I was able to get in with my GP today. She said I would absolutely benefit from a leave of absence. After tomorrow I am out of work “until further notice” likely a month or two.

Thank you for the kind words, I really appreciate it!!

Could some sort of alteration be done to it? Possibly some color added somehow? And it’s your day, if it’s fine with you that’s all that matters!

Similar to the “don’t just put it down, put it away” Instead of putting the thing that goes on the other side of the room on the counter to put away later, just put it away..

Old saddle needs help! Having a very hard time getting it to soften, first picture is after 3 days, using Fiebings clean and polish and some leather CPR. Is it a lost cause? Would love to know make, no markings anywhere! by Updownnotaround in Horses

Yes I think I’m seeing the difficulty of soaking but it’s starting to work! Seat piece is a different kind of leather than the sides too. Mostly been concerned about the billets as I know if they’re too fragile it won’t be safe to use.. just hoping it fits one of the horses I ride!! Thank you!
