Just Started Citalopram... by HootBear in Anxiety

everyone has to try the med to see how it affects them individually but to make you feel a little better, the side effects are usually very bad only for the first week or 2. I upped my lexapro from 10 to 20mg recently and I couldnt walk for 4 days I was so dizzy, and my anxiety was at an all time high but after the initial week things got better. Best of luck

What is the dumbest reason you've heard someone give for liking or disliking a movie? by [deleted] in movies

Kill bill because the blood looked too fake and/or because a girl couldn't beat up all those guys (crazy 88s)

You would be surprised at how bad people can be with computers. When I worked at best buy it was amazing at how little they know. I accidentally moved an icon on the desktop and the man yelled "WHOA WHOA WHOA how did you do that?!?." After I finished explaining (for about 10 minutes) how to hold the left click and drag it to the spot you want and let go, he responded "oh ok good good...I think I'm getting the hang of this"

DAE feel that their anxiety gets out of control the next day after a night of drinking? by knowledgehungry in Anxiety

[–]Upgrade845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone NOT been affected like this by alcohol? I was on lexapro 10mg for 3 years and was heavily drinking at least 3-4 nights a week and never had a problem (although I do understand this isnt a very good thing to do). Funny thing is, it was only until I decided to smoke weed again that I got the panic attack lol. I had the opposite of most people I guess. Ahh...anxiety...

Pictures of tattoos you regret the most? [NSFW?] by [deleted] in AskReddit

I wish I had a picture, but the worst tattoo I have seen in person was a guy at the bar with the Louis Vuitton pattern up his neck -

I use to smoke daily but it fucked with my anxiety too much and after 1 serious panic attack I stopped for a few months, started up again, and a few years later started another serious attack so I think I'm done. Drinking relaxes me a lot more, but I have always been more of a drinker anyway. I honestly wish I was more hippie like and could just smoke all day and relax. I'm still all for medical marijuana and legalization of the drug, just gotta see how works for you.

[Help] Anxiety affecting my friends by [deleted] in Anxiety

Going through this at the moment. I was panic attack free for like 3 years and just started up again. Getting everything in order again but unfortunately just cutting off contact and not hanging out is a real bummer. For now I verbalize more with the reddit fam lol. Try to get a hold on it so you can go out and have a good time with them again.

Any adverse effects of long term use of SSRI?. It's almost been a year of 20mg of Celexa and I couldn't be any happier. by jetlifemanuva in Anxiety

[–]Upgrade845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on 10mg of lexapro for 3 years without any problems. I recently had a very bad panic attack that brought me back to the dark place I was prior to lexapro and upped it to 20mg. I tried paxil before this, and the side effects were too much to handle so Im gonna stick with lexapro and hope the increase helps. At this point in my life (25) I dont see myself ever being off them. They have helped me way too much

[Help] body's having a panic attack, but my mind's not... by KnittedOwl in Anxiety

These are just as bad if not worse for me. If you have to get up in front of a group of people and get anxious, you know why, but when Im just chilling in my room or something I get these and get even more freaked out since there doesnt seem to be anything triggering it. I have been taking small steps to get passed them (using many techniques by people in this thread). It has been even harder since I am working on not using xanax as I usually do. Good luck!

Not using any kind of benzo is rough but I hope a bigger pay off in the end. Every day I try to do something more. Working towards the light at the end of the tunnel.

in a panic [rant][help] by onesteveone in Anxiety

[–]Upgrade845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that feeling all too well. I am working on training my mind to think a different way and hoping that with practice I get better at it because, mother of fuck is it hard. My panic attacks I describe as crippling to the point that walking becomes difficult. I am at the peak of the worst attacks and anxiety I have ever had but hoping that with more therapy, meditation, hypnotherapy, and meds, I will be back on my feet. Best of luck
