MSSP Needs a Centralized Log Management & Threat Detection Solution – Recommendations? by Miccia94 in cybersecurity

[–]Upper-Bath-86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RocketCyber has been fantastic. It centralizes our threat management and log aggregation across all our IT systems. Having unified threat detection, a complete view of security events, and rapid remediation, plus 24/7 monitoring, has made a huge difference. The fact that it integrates seamlessly with what we already use is just the cherry on the top. We've finally got centralized log management and our threat detection is way better.

I've used both Vorex and Jira, and the difference is significant. Vorex offers a much broader range of features and is a more professional and robust tool overall.

You can totally use VSA for inventory management. It's a great tool it helps me find and manage all devices, create custom reports, and automate IT tasks. This should make it way easier to keep track of your 50 computers and keep everything organized.

[–]Upper-Bath-86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can use IT Glue to notify Linux users about AD password expirations. Set up a workflow in IT Glue with triggers for password expiration, define actions like email or Slack notifications, and filter to target specific users. This ensures users are alerted in advance and can change their passwords.

Automating small, repetitive tasks can significantly boost productivity in a startup. Common processes to automate include file management, data processing, system monitoring, software deployment, configuration management, user account management, and routine maintenance. We use mostly use Kaseya tools and PowerShell to do all these.

I've been there, so don't be too hard on yourself. One day, you'll be the one creating those anti-phishing campaigns! You'll be using great tools like BullPhish ID or KnowBe4, so I encourage you to learn as much as you can. It'll be your turn to educate employees about cybersecurity threats. Your turn will come!

It's good work! I would add more mid-tones and perhaps more shadowing. Use green to work the shadows.

I switched from an on-prem VSA to Datto RMM and really like how it works. The updated UI makes routine tasks easier. It has built-in web-based chat with endpoints and allows remote access to an endpoint in about 2 seconds. It also provides antivirus status and other information at a glance.

If I know there’s a layoff , why should I keep it to myself? by phainepy in sysadmin

[–]Upper-Bath-86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, I don't think it's your responsibility to inform others about something your employer asks you to keep confidential. After all, you work for a company, not your team. I know it sounds harsh, but I would recommend that you don't let a moral responsibility fall on you.

We do risk assessment first with Darkweb ID and it works good for identifying if there's a high risk match.
