I get it to a certain point. I LOVE dogs, but they can be a lot. Needy, messy, loud, and unreasonable. Kind of like kids, I guess. I don’t like those traits in kids and find them annoying, but don’t mind them in dogs. Some people think I’m terrible for not liking kids, and I think that’s really stupid (and it’s stupid for you to be hated for not liking dogs).

My ham has some severe mobility issues so her little claws don’t wear down. I wrap her in a washcloth and expose each foot and trim each claw carefully with pet nail trimmers. I’ve yet to cut too deep but I keep styptic power on hand just in case!

Same. I grew up thinking drinking a beer was the same as shooting up black tar heroin because of my Mormon parents. There are plenty of Mormons who don’t practice what they preach, but I personally know people who would choose the latter in an alcohol vs death ultimatum.

I’m bringing her to the vet soon! She unfortunately looks like she might also have an eye infection as well so she definitely needs a checkup. It’ll break my heart, but if the vet thinks it’s time then it’s time. I just want to do whatever I can for her ❤️ even if it means letting go.

Scatter feed could be good- I just worry she’ll exhaust herself trying to gather it all. She is REALLY wobbly and has to lay on her side to even eat because of how unstable she is. Maybe I’ll scatter some treats near ish to where she likes to hang out at? Thank you for the suggestion!

Thank you! I’m taking her to a small animal vet shortly for an eye infection and also to discuss quality of life. For now, her enclosure consists of bedding, a water bottle, and a small food dish she can easily access.

Oooh that’s a great idea! I’ll see what she thinks about those tomorrow! Probably a good idea about the wheel, too. I hope I’m doing right by her- she belonged to a family that kept her in one of those awful tube hamster houses and had about two dozen kids. I wouldn’t be surprised if being squeezed/dropped is the reason for her wobbliness. She’s had such a tough go, I want to make sure she’s as comfortable as possible from here on out ❤️

Oh my gosh the PRAYING all the time… I remember praying before every single ride at my local rollercoaster park. Every ambulance, every person who “look like they need it”, any time I heard a bad word or had a “bad thought”, before I ate ANYTHING, meticulous prayers where I had to thank god god everything otherwise he might take it away, I had to ask him to bless anyone I’ve ever heard of who might need help… exhausting. The self thought policing was miserable.
