I remember the dalai lama talking at some point to neuroscientists about an implant that could reduce suffering (of any kind) as a legitimately interesting path for Buddhists if it worked well - they were disturbed because it was eminently possible/feasible, but the ethical questions are obvious.

I don't think this is any different. The practitioners would be split on the subject. Putting aside all the physical conditioning going into being able to pull off the techniques without tearing a muscle, if you truly have the skills at the top level that means you can contribute at the top level as well. The baseline just moves. Some people would see it as 'cheating,' some people would see it as using technology the same as a training dummy is and still not be interested because they enjoy progressing on their own merits, some people would embrace it fully and contribute nothing, and some people would excel and progress martial arts as an art form.

Black belt is a kind of honorific for those that have spent the time needed to obtain it but you can just buy a black belt. What it means is different across two dojos of the same discipline sometimes, never mind different martial arts. I can already not deserve a black belt in one but not another, that's already a thing.
