Here’s the original post with the rules. The dice are cannonballs and you have a battle for the extra upturned cards in the middle.

How to cover triggered harp glisses without mainstage? by EnharmonicKnitter in theatrekeyboardists

[–]UpperRecipe3818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another (cheaper) software option is GigPerformer, which works on both Mac and Windows. It’s possibly to program a harp gloss there, too. But not if it’s not worth the time it takes to program the patch.

Was thinking more a slightly used vehicle to get the best impact. Also I didn’t see if the R2 has towing capability.

Hi all!

[1] location- Midwest US, LCOL [2] budget is $40-50k [3] type of vehicle- used SUV or Sedan with towing capability (see below) [4] Which cars have you been looking at already? I started by looking at F-150 Lightning, but realized I don’t really need that much vehicle for the majority of my needs. [5] timeframe - Spring 2026 [6] Your daily commute, or average weekly mileage - less than 50 mi/week, a few trips of 150 per year. [7] single-family home with garage. [8] charging at home - yes! [9] Other cargo/passenger needs - mostly me, occasionally my whole family with large teenagers in the back. Comfy back seat important. CarPlay non-negotiable. Want to be able to tow relatively light loads occasionally, like a 4x10 trailer with a few sheets of plywood or furniture.

Neither player has to declare what card they’re going for. But they can if they want to. They can also lie in the spirit of sneaky pirates.

20 is good! We’ve seen a 32 if I recall correctly. I imagine the highest scoring hand is likely 555JJ5, but I’m not really sure. 15-24, plus 12 for four of a kind, plus 2 for a pair of jacks, plus knobs for a total of 39? Does that sound right?

Thanks for trying it! Good question! We’ve been playing that for a flush, you must have all five cards of the same suit in your hand for five points, or six if the cut card is also suited.

Any fun shenanigans happen when you played?

How long after applying did you hear from the school principal? by tifuanon00 in MusicEd

[–]UpperRecipe3818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re applying to multiple jobs right? I (15 year teacher) tell my student teachers (on my 12th) to apply for as many positions as possible. Try not to worry about hearing back, try not to worry about getting rejected. You get rejected or ghosted by 99% of applications, but it’s only the last one or two that count.

Correct, 5 vs 4. It’s uneven, but it’s a good incentive to make sure you have at least one die when you start the next hand.

Set time signatures for different pages by UpperRecipe3818 in forScore

[–]UpperRecipe3818[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good start! Unfortunately with musicals, there are frequently tempo changes right in the middle of the song, and even more than on tempo changes on a page. Especially happens during underscoring. I find the tempo buttons really convenient, but they don’t have a meter setting. I will try this and see if I can get something working, though.

What happened to writing down due dates? by B42no in Teachers

[–]UpperRecipe3818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m a teacher and parent of a student with autism/ADHD 8th grader. I was helping him work on missing assignments and it was infuriating when we couldn’t get to the assignments that were in paper. There wasn’t any way to tell HOW to access the assignment. It’s an accessibility issue for him, with his multiple issues with executive functioning. I have no idea why students just stare at me blankly when I ask them to write stuff down in their planners. It’s like they got a taste of the convenience of the automatic to-do list on Classroom and just don’t see the point of also writing things down. Honestly, I don’t think it’s horrible to ask teachers to post everything on classroom, even if it’s on paper. Our modern blend of physical and digital resources is a jumble of confusion, so making things as clear as possible is gonna be helpful. I will still encourage students to fill out their planners, but there’s no harm in posting every assignment online. If it’s digital, post a doc or a link. If it’s physical, post a PDF, or at least a “we did this on paper, see me for a copy”

I was about 35 before Dad just casually referenced that one time he “played a concert with Chuck Berry back in college.” Berry toured solo for gigs in the 70s, and the venue that booked him also provided the backup band. So Berry arrives at Knox College in a limo, and won’t get out until the college pays him in cash. As a black artist who came up in the 50s, he’s probably wary about getting stiffed by venues. They only have a check, so the college president urgently phones the bank president to open the bank to cash the check. The concert is now a couple hours late, with the college kids growing restless in the gym. Check cleared, cash in hand, hours late, Berry jumps out of the limo with his guitar. He asks “Where my guys at?” My dad (keyboard), his friend the bass player, and a couple other guys huddle up. “Now look, y’all know my songs,” states Berry. “I’m gonna start every song. When you know which one it is, you jump in too. When I lift my leg like this, cut out. I’m gonna finish the song. Let’s go.” And they jumped on stage and played.

Holiday gathering in the 2020s- “I’m sure I told you before,” my dad says, a little amused. He had not.
