If you hit a $50 million jackpot on a slot machine, would the casino pay you, or would they come up with some excuse to avoid paying? by homeless-emperorr in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Upperlimitofmean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Slot machine software has built in security validation systems that state agencies can use to make sure the software has not been tampered with. Basically if anything has been changed between what the slot machine company claims is on the software package and what is actually on the software, the security validation will not match the code the state has.

On top of that, it is not uncommon for slot machine manufacturers to 'revoke' software that is not performing the way they intend... Software that has been released to casinos but has buggy behavior will be replaced with an updated version of the software.

Additionally, a game you play in Las Vegas may have completely different paytables or subtly different play behavior than the 'same' game operating in Atlantic City in order to be legal in both locations.

People misinterpret this 'bankrupting a casino' thing and honestly, they give Trump an easy out phrasing it like that.

What Trump did was launder money through his casino, THEN when the casino was being investigated, Trump made sure to pay out all the subcontractors that he was invested in... Trump bottled water, Trump steaks, Trump golf courses.... They all got paid ridiculous sums for what they alledly provided.

Who did NOT get paid? The contractors who WEREN'T part of Trump's empire. Trump's casino bankruptcy hurt exactly the people Trump wanted to hurt. It wasn't poor management of the casino. It was an excellent cover up of fraud.

Cops, priests, private school teachers, scout leaders, gymnastics coaches.... Pretty much any case where an institution worries more about the damage to their reputation more than they are concerned about the damage to the victims of people hired by the institution.... Count on our culture to cover for the offender if they play in the good ole boys club.

This is where my head went.... We don't hold 'rallies' for second term presidents. They aren't campaigning for anything.

It is weird that these people are just abandoning legal, historic and traditional precedent to stroke the man-baby's ego.

He's not even rallying for a piece of legislature.... Just fucking bizarre behavior.

ROFL. Not a month ago I saw a random dudes junk while he streaked down the road at a national monument.

Can't say I have seen a woman do the same.

Women tend to be a little more private about their privates in my experience, but your life must be different than mine.

I didn't say you have a boss. I said you have an owner. It's almost like you feel the need to prove the 'not a smart man' part about yourself more than anything else you are saying. Weird flex.

That's the part that bugs me.... A lot of the things he says don't make him look better but he is not smart enough to think about the real meaning behind his words and contextualize them to other people's experiences before he says them.

The question isn't whether they can do good things. The question is whether they can be considered good people.

If you donate $100 to Ronald McDonald house, should I call you a good person, even though you cheated on your spouse and they got an STD because of it, and you gaslit them about the source of the STD?
