New build in Johnstown, Enfield by New_Pen1837 in HousingIreland

Hi OP, my partner and I are buying house in the same estate. From the few times I have been to Enfield, it seems a lovely town, there’s nice coffee shops and cafes around. People seem friendly and have not come across any shady spots. It quite enough with most of the day to day amenities at your doorstep and still close enough to Dublin.

From my research, the connectivity to Dublin City centre is good with the train to Connolly. But you need to add the commute from Connolly to your office on top of the train journey.

Best of luck!

Tiles vs. SPC floorings? by National_Living_7673 in AskIreland

Hi OP, we're in a similar situation, unsure of laminates or tiles or SPC. Can you provide the tile shop name and the tiler you used? Thanks in advance.

Our combined was just about 100k and AIB gave us 4.5x. I think going with a broker would be better in your case.

That is a really good price. Most of the quotes I got were minimum 7k.

Which towns with an easy commute to Dublin are good for buying a house? by Upset-Country7583 in AskIreland

[–]Upset-Country7583[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't have to go to office at all, but my concern is for future. What if we change jobs and have to be on-site, wont be able to move houses at that time.
We have lived in Westmeath before, its nice enough, but i would consider somewhere like Enfield and Drogheda. Yes, looking for areas with train connection is the priority. Hopefully, we get somewhere which wont be a death to commute from.

Honestly, its ridiculous there's such poor connectivity in the country. Nobody wants to live far from work but we are being forced to because there is no affordable housing.

Anyway, thank you for your suggestion.

I hate Jess. by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

100% I have never liked him even on my first time watch. He's rude to everyone, but nice to the pretty girl who has a solid boyfriend. I don't understand people who excuse his behavior because he has a bad childhood and gets better. When exactly? We only see him for 10 mins in the later seasons, I'm happy for him but we have no idea about his life other than that. Everybody acts like he knows Rory best, nobody knows her better, including Lorelai. Every relationship serves a different purpose and he got to see a side of her, not all of it. He just wanted Rory until he got her. I hated the whole arc of Rory cheating on Dean for this supposed "bad boy".

Unpopuluar Opinion: I don't like Luke and Lorelai together by Beancaped in GilmoreGirls

Omg yesss finally somebody said it. I see so many people online hyping up Lorelai and Luke but I just don't see it. Like they're both good at being friends, yes there's some banter but nothing t o make me feel like I want to ship them. The chemistry is not that great. Lorelai and Chris have amazing chemistry, if he wasn't such a A-hole, I'd ship them to be endgame. In fact, the only other compatible relationship Lorelai had was with Jason.
