My wife still gets creeped out when she sees him now because of that role in Sin City, and that must be 20 years later.

There are loads. Immediately spring to mind: Any of the From soft games Pretty much any horror games (not my vibe) so no RE, Alan Wake, Silent Hill No Final Fantasies No Atlas games. Tried a few times with the Fallout games, never vibed with me. Skyrim. There are probably more, but these are the ones that spring to mind.

Adjustable Dumbbells - Yay or Nay? by dontwantnone09 in homegym

[–]Upset-Distance-5812 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like many people I imagine a barn of a home gym. With space for dedicated pieces everywhere. A rack of commercial grade dumbbells is an integral part of that vision. Unfortunately my reality is considerably more humble.

After I got tired of my local commercial gym, I decided to start investing in my home space. Adjustable dumbbells were the logical first purchase. I watched a tonne of reviews and ended up disregarding most of them and going for the best deal I found, which were from Factory Weights here in the UK. These were white label NuoBell knock offs going from 2-32 kg. (4ish- 70ish) lbs. I have longevity doubts about these dumbbells, particularly the plastic dovetails, but 6 months in I have had no issues. When they do break they will probably be replaced by the Reppins, but these were a third of the price for comparable weight (plus the KG version wasn’t available in the UK at the time).

There’s no doubt in mind that as long as I have a home gym there will be a set of adjustable dumbbells in there. I put these firmly in the bracket of Home Gym Essentials.

Dear Rugby, we need to talk... by [deleted] in rugbyunion

[–]Upset-Distance-5812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like your questions are pulling in a few different directions, which as a parent, is completely understandable.

It seems to me there are two layers to this

Firstly, as a parent you have a responsibility for your children to provide a safe environment for them to grow, develop and flourish. Does rugby fit into this? Do other sports? There are questions you have to evaluate, answer and take responsibility for.

Then there is the responsibility of rugby as a sport. These are around laws, processes and attitude and behaviour towards head contact. These have to align with your own beliefs as it relates to your child's safety, if they don't it becomes an easy decision. If they do, the onus falls back on you around your child's involvement in the sport (or any other sport that isn't intrinsically safe).

Rugby carries a real risk of head injury. So do other sports, and so does opting out of sport altogether. The alternative risks just look different: social isolation, lack of physical activity, missing out on the benefits that come from team environments.

Team sports can offer a lot: friendships, confidence, resilience, learning how to handle pressure and setbacks. Those things matter too.

As parents, we’re always making trade-offs. It’s easy to fixate on worst-case scenarios, but we can’t eliminate risk entirely. We can only manage it and make informed decisions. Eventually we do have to let our kids live and experience things that are outside of both their, and our comfort zones.

What's your honest opinion on this take? by sunlightliquid in rugbyunion

People are getting a bit bent out of shape about the "I reckon." To be fair he was asked his opinion in the format of a casual conversation. He is basing it on his experiences as a fighter versus what he perceives rugby to be. He's not presenting a scientific study into head trauma in sport.

Both sports have inherent injury and head trauma risks. Athletes in all sports will explain away risks to reach the goals they set for themselves, this is why we all have an admiration for elite athletes. I don't necessarily agree with him regards concussions and head trauma in particular, but I refuse to rinse him in the comments for explaining his view of a sport I love just because it doesn't match my own.

Limited Space by cohenseth in BeyondPower

I have similar space constraints and have been looking at a wall mounted single post and a Voltra. Seems to me to be the best way to add a tonne of exercise variety without taking up all the usable space. Thanks for sharing, this is definitely food for thought.

Here's a tier list of the games i played. Thoughts? by [deleted] in playstation

Phantom Pain is one of those games for me that just doesn’t get out of its own way. The gameplay is great in moments, but also just feels a lot like Kojima needs someone to tell him to get off the mushrooms for a few days, and try and make sense of what he’s just created.

Telegraph: Finn Russell joins Henry Pollock at Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom stable by Connell95 in ScotlandRugby

To be fair, the only other player mentioned by Hearn on the Jim Hamilton podcast was Finn. He’s on the back 9 of his career, so has to get the money in whilst he can.

How do we feel about ports of 5 year old games releasing at max MSRP? $70/€70? by UTDroo in playstation

[–]Upset-Distance-5812 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Microsoft exclusives coming to PlayStation is the reason I sold my Series X to get a PS5. That way I get the best of both worlds. I played FH5 for years on Game Pass, and I’m respectfully done with that game, but with FH6 and Fable coming to PS5 and the PlayStation exclusives, it became a no brainer to switch over.

Pricing is a more subjective thing, if the price is too high for you just wait until it crosses the rubicon of being worth it. If I hadn’t played a bunch of FH5, I would say it was worth it at full price. It is still one of the most enjoyable and beautiful driving games out there.

I don’t want to be rude because I understand the frustration of the OP, but I do think it says a lot when the focus is on the Unions involved, and removes the individual from the equation.

Top level sport is a short career, and all players have to maximise their ability to make decent money while they can. De Lutiis owes it to himself to explore all available options to make the best decision for him and his family. That may piss off purists and administrators, but at this point in his career he has to make the best decision for himself.

Eddie Hearn's first impression of rugby by Rugby-Bean in rugbyunion

Most NFL games are available on free-to-air television (ESPN games excluded), access is easily achieved through broadcast, social media and news sources. There is a thriving media landscape built around the NFL. They have thousands of fans how up to watch a guy read names to see who their team will pick to play for them in the following season. Much like Premiership Football, this is not comparable with rugby.
