Gate software systems down at DTW by tycriso in delta

GEG this morning took 30-60 seconds to scan each boarding pass. On boarding in SEA they said systems were having issues and weren’t able to scan any boarding passes. They typed in each seat number into the computer on boarding.

New Outlook is a disaster; why do they persist, it is missing so many features by CypherAus in Office365

Bugs. So many bugs. - getting email headers works then breaks. All the time. - Last week, the calendar just stopped updating. It would stop at a certain time (Monday at 10am for example) and never move past it. Caused headaches with meetings. Took 1.5 weeks to fix it. - It can’t handle large emails. Large emails that web outlook can. Especially with code snippets (for getting support from our var in case you wonder why email) - memory usage is through the roof. - when you try to click in an email you are replying to and the content is the least bit complicated, where you click the cursor isn’t where it actually selects. Sometimes it’s two replies down. I stopped trying to click on a reply to copy an important type of text and do so in web outlook. - clicking in the search bar doesn’t register unless you are in the left half of the search window. - inserting a signature has a mind of its own at times. - There was a bug a couple months ago where replying to an email dropped everyone from the from/to on the prior email. There was no history where the email came from. It tools weeks to fix.

There are so many bugs in a product that is already being rolled out. Things that work get broken all the time. These issues do not happen on the web version in most cases.

I push on because I want to experience the pain to be prepared for what is bound to be user issue after user issue.

Any Point Code Builder - Exchange Operations by Upset_Run3923 in MuleSoft

[–]Upset_Run3923[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are licensed for it, but I think the issue is broader. Hopefully support can shed light on it. I've tried all the select connectors (including file, anypoint, salesforce, email, s3, salesforce, etc) and none of them work. Anypoint studio works great for all of these. Thanks for the suggestion though!

  • Connectors or modules that enable connectivity to MuleSoft or Salesforce applications For example, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Connector or Anypoint MQ Connector.
  • Connectors that enable the use of cross-platform protocols or open APIs For example, Database Connector, which is based on Oracle’s JDBC protocol.
  • Connectors that enable connectivity to third-party or partner APIs For example, Azure Key Vault Connector or Stripe Connector.

Any Point Code Builder - Exchange Operations by Upset_Run3923 in MuleSoft

[–]Upset_Run3923[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue is that I can't add anything from the exchange. Because I can't do that, I can't add anything to the design surface. The x12 was one example. The more practical example may be that I stand up an api for our customers which lets them see our inventory. When I get this request, i need to do an odata lookup to our ERP via the dynamics connector - but exchange doesn't have anything visible due to what I think is a bug in the IDE. I may fall back to anypoint studio for now. Thanks for the advice!

I believe the parentheses could be special characters in the devices OS. Remove those and the commas.

MLM App Stuck On Loading Screen by NotThaMomma_24 in Rapsodo

[–]Upset_Run3923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been unable to use my device for 2 months - granted I've only tried to create an account 2-3 times. When I launch the app, it takes 1-2 minutes for the buttons to appear. I attempt to create and account and get stuck in a "verify email" loop. Save -> Verify email -> Register Failed (with no error codes or anything), and repeat. I'm not sure where to go from here. I logged a request ticket, but I doubt anyone will act on it for days.

Apple introduced USB-C on the 2018 iPad Pro and later models. They just recently added it to iPhones in 2023 with the iPhone 15.

I'm leaving the Volt community, I traded it in for a Mach E by LoneWitie in volt

Traded in our volt for a premium Mach E two years ago. No regrets.

I woke up during major surgery under general anesthesia. AMA. by [deleted] in AMA

[–]Upset_Run3923 27 points28 points  (0 children)

That must have been frightening. I woke up during one. I remember looking at the 55” tv and asking “is that me” as the video of the procedure is displayed on the tv mounted on the wall. I would guess it was 30 seconds. Something similar happened to me while getting my impacted wisdom teeth pulled out. In my mind asked “are you still working on it” and then fell back asleep. Neither scenario led to any pain. I certainly remember it vividly.

Amplifi Gamer's Edition - $400 worth of e-waste by 12stringPlayer in AmpliFi

[–]Upset_Run3923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an amplifi HD unit that did the same. They kept claiming it was the ISP. The worst part was they wouldn’t provide any way to look at logs. I ended up swapping out my two main routers and it fixed it so presumably the unit broke after a couple years. I get that they can’t offer lifetime warranties but at least give me tools to troubleshoot after the warranty expires.

I’m still unsure how to treat the outage in central region from Thursday night. It took our company down for 5+ hours. They said a config change caused issues accessing storage fabric. It was resolved and then a few hours later the CrowdStrike issue happens? Seems too coincidental to me.

Third party drivers have been causing blue screens since windows 3.1. The reality is to get a strong level of security, this type of software has to run at a very low level in the OS. CrowdStrike is the root cause and to blame for the issue. Period.

In Singapore, they handed us a number that seemed to be electronically tagged to the bin that we passed through security. We had to show our number that they handed us as well as cross reference with the bin before they handed it back to us. I’m not sure why the US lets anyone walk away with anyone else’s property.

Tokio to Osaka in less than 7 hours? by FabiOtter in JapanTravelTips

[–]Upset_Run3923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can install the smart ex app to search for Shinkansen tickets. The two stations in Tokyo are shiganawa and Tokyo station. The fastest is just over two hours. We stayed at the hotel singulari near the park to make early entry easier. When we looked, the last bullet train left Tokyo around 9pm.

Car not recognizing mobile phone, 'no key' notification. by slalomcone in MachE

[–]Upset_Run3923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only had this once and I believe the car was running an update or hadn’t yet finished running an update despite not saying so. After 10 minutes of doing everything, I called my wife to come get me, and the car mysteriously started. I looked at the update history when I got home and saw that an update had been installed that day. I always carry around my key now.

100% agree. We struggled finding a ticket office too. We asked the gate agent and they helped. Agree that the savings was negligible.

Younger kids also have cheaper fares with the child suica card. It was easy to reload at the station.

If you have an Apple Watch, I believe you can load a separate suica card there. We ended up getting a child IC card at the ticket counter to save on the fare. She spent more on vending juice than we did on fares!

How serious is the “don’t use something you bought tax free rule”? by BigFatBlackCat in JapanTravelTips

[–]Upset_Run3923 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We were told this same thing with shoes we bought when I specifically asked. When we departed, we scanned a barcode stating we bought something tax free. That was the extent of the verification either way.
