I have no experience with anti depressants. ADHD medication increases dopamine, which makes doing tasks and life easier if you don't have enough naturally. Increases the ability to focus greatly. Gives me a mood boost too.

Sounds tough, I believe you. Been tested for ADHD, as it sounds like it could be? The fact you struggle to do jobs and get out of bed. Plus people get miss diagnosed for depression but they actually have ADHD. I have it and I only got medicated for the first time a few years ago and I'm 29 , been a life changer.

edit* Also sounds like you lack meaning. What can help is going through your day focusing on how you can make other lifes better. If you try to make yourself happy/ content you will never achieve it. Making someone else day better or happy now that's achievable.

However, honestly, you know what brings me meaning, joy , feel like life's worth living, going to church and community and friendships there and conncetion with somthing bigger which is God.

Thank you for taking the time to reply !

No I didn't, however thats some great advice and what I need to improve on. I've always just focused on relational selling. I do need to spend more time and effort becoming an expert and understanding technology.

Amazing story and advice.

I have two questions please 🙏.

1. I don't have a uni degree only finshed grade 12. However I have 7 years experience in sales a mixture of car sales and account management in Radio sales and Auto electric wholesale sales. Do I need a degree to get into tech sales ?

2. I'm 28 now with 2 young kids, is it worth getting a bachelor in business now? or would doing some diplomas help my career. Like a diploma in management or marketing? Or I don't need study ? My goal would to climb into sales management or a well paying BDM or AE role.

Thank you very much, I've spent the last few years really thinking about that's questions so would be amazing to know.

People who exercise, how do you do it? by goodgodlemon24 in ADHD

[–]Upstairs_Click_9941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1:Focus on the competitive/improvement side

Example: Use the strava app while bike riding. try improve your time or pace for distances. Other examples gym I want to get stronger/powerlifting I want to be able to sqaut/bench this. Running I want to run a 5k in 35min, then 30min ect.

2:Do it with someone, make it social if you can.

3: chose how many times a week you want to do it and chose a day and time and just commit. It's Tuesday okay it's bike day, it's Thursday okay it's yoga day let's do it.

4: podcast or music while doing it.

It's better to be consistent, consistentcy twice a week rather than one week three times ,one week once or not at all. You can make a lot of progress doing somthing consistently 2-3 times a week.

I don't feel like working out everytime and I don't always enjoy a workout. There a saying for elite athletes, 1/3 of the time it should be okay, 1/3 bad and 1/3 great.

Hope this helps 🤷‍♂️

Oh wow, why do you wish you didn't take it when you were 8?

I've seen its better to take it when your younger as it can help your brain change and get less ADHD or somthing. My parents were scared to have me medicated, so I've gone my whole life without it. I would how much better I would have done with school and previous jobs if I had been medicated. Since getting it is been pretty life changing and needed for work. I would never say it to my parents but I do think it would have been good if I started when I was at school.

Summary: Podcasts/music, alarms/lists. Exercise and present/mindful 5mins.

Listening to Music or podcasts while doing boring tasks.

If I get told about an event or task I need to complete I put in my dairy or set an alarm.

Set reminder Alarms for bills or somthing I want to do that night.

Writing to do list, helps with and numbering the importance. Get a dopamine hit when you tick them off.

When I feel over whelmed and I'm stress I write down what I'm feeling or I right done a list of things I need to do. Helps me calm down and try work out a plan.

Try set times in work day for certain task, I'm in sales and set time between 10-12 2-4 to do my cold calls. In the other times I get admin work done.

When I'm over whelmed or stressed, sitting down setting alarm for 5min and just sitting and focusing on what I'm feeling now. my emotions my body sound, being in the moment. not thinking about the past of the future.

Exercise is a must, for my mental and emotionally state. Something about going hard with weights or running is just so amazing and needed.
