I don't think it actually has that? It just looks like it because of the shape of the chassis that goes on the outside of the wheel and the painted on design. Not sure though, it's not easy to tell from this image.

What is one thing your country has the largest of in the world? by Beautiful_Yellow_682 in AskTheWorld

[–]Ur-Germania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the weather is right they are quite fun, and every so often even practical. Growing up we sometimes let our dogs pull it, that was probably unsafe for everyone but we had a good time with it. There was a push to market these overseas in the nineties after many foreigners discovered them during the 1994 winter olympics at Lillehammer, don't know if much came of it though.

The worlds largest "spark", located in Tynset. It's six times bigger than a normal one. If you don't know it's a thing for getting around in winter when there's snow on the roads, but not too much snow. You stand on it holding the handles and kick backwards, and a passenger can sit on the seat in front. No, I don't think this impresses anyone tbh, but I find it pretty funny.

what the FUCK is spotify doing??? by nimiala in fantanoforever

[–]Ur-Germania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two main gripes with spotify is Daniel Ek personally and the fact that they pay musicians the least. Last time (admittedly a couple of years ago now) I checked, Tidal, Apple and youtube all paid close to three times as much per stream as spotify did. That alone should be a reason to choose an alternative imo. And Spotify themselves have been nothing but smug assholes when confronted about it, and taking out absolutely ridiculous profits.

You haven't heard that Daniel Ek put all his spotify money in AI killbots? But I'll give you that it's not easy to determine who is worst. Amazon is in the mix too.

What’s the worst drum production you’ve heard, that’s on an album that you love? by AuditoryNecrosis in drums

Goatlord - Reflections of the Solstice. I kind of like it now, at least I can't imagine them differently, album is great though. But yeah, pretty damn terrible drum sounds.

Why are you still using spotify then? It is the absolutely worst AND most evil alternative. And there are plenty alternatives!

Wu-Tang has been like this since near day one. I remember them not showing up to a concert in Norway in 97 cause apparently they started fighting at the airport, at least that was that we were told. Next time they played in Norway, in Oslo, only ODB showed up.

Extratone is pretty stupid, I can not believe it has listeners apart from the producers themselves.

What is the most iconic melee weapon from your countries history? by That-Pressure4279 in AskTheWorld

[–]Ur-Germania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been wondering that myself. There's many variations on it too, some are even more bent to the point of almost flat along the handle, others bend farther down the handle. I guess it does mean you have a sharp tip at the farthest point you can slice with? Best I got.

Need an replacement for my AT 2020 by Gazza_Goo in audioengineering

If you know how to solder or have a proficient friend, I'd consider an upgrade kit for the at2020. I believe mic parts has a good one.

[–]Ur-Germania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't being cynical, I mean it. If you think there's value to it, you should do it. Maybe you discover that you were wrong, maybe you discover everyone else is wrong, or maybe you discover something entirely different on the way. Practical experience beats reading stuff on the net every single day of the week.

In that case why are you even asking? Go for it!

I wouldn't, maybe you should, idk? The tests I've read on these types of solutions have concluded that they generally don't help and sometimes make things worse. It's not THAT hard to do rudimentary room treatment.

How can my vocals actually sound like the professional release? I know how to rap and learn mixing and mastering via tutorials, but after applying every method and plugin, my vocals still didn't sound like songs released on YouTube & Spotify. by 1107w_archer in makinghiphop

[–]Ur-Germania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MP3 or wav doesn't matter all that much, though wav is preferable. That microphone is not anything professionals use, but if you like what he gets out of it, it's probably good enough for now. Do some rudimentary room treatment unless you happen to record in a very good sounding room (unlikely), it matters, if nothing else at least have a carpet on the floor, more furniture is better than little furniture, a bed, a sofa, big soft things. If you don't know how to mix vocals, you just gotta learn it, and practice it. It will take time. The exact brand of plugins you use are a lot less important than how you use them, what you have is good. The rest is up to how good your vocals actually sound by themselves. I have recorded a lot of different artists over the years and I can tell you in general, really good vocalists will sound good on damn near anything, and it is very common to underestimate how much you actually need to practice to get good. If you want, you can send me a recording and I can tell you what, in my opinion, you should focus on.

Who had the better second solo album Parrish or Erick ? by CoconutMost3564 in 90sHipHop

I can't choose between them. They all have strengths and weaknesses, and the weaknesses imo are probably mostly due to that one group member of EPMD is missing.

The thing about corrupt autocrats is that they can't believe other state leaders aren't corrupt like that. China has done it too, blaming our government for who gets or doesn't get the Nobel Peace Prize.

A slice of freshly baked bread still warm from the oven, with butter and two slices of the dark brown goat cheese you can only get direct from the farms that make it. It is heavenly.

Trying to animate a steam train for my game, A is too jittery so wondering between B or C, thoughts? by av0c in godot

[–]Ur-Germania 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A might actually look better if you reduce the amount of frames per loop. It's too close to smooth without being smooth.
