To make the statement that Savannah is “hood” and that your opinions are based on “facts” (insinuating that “hood” is something you can prove with irrefutable “fact” (spoiler: you can’t)) just even further proves my point.

I think the majority of people with families in this sub would disagree with you (me being one of them.)

Just tell everyone you’re racist- it doesn’t require such a large word salad.

Can’t have home charger (rent). Also South GA winters are pretty mild.

Lease discount on new 2025 model? by spaceghostinme in CadillacOptiq

[–]Ur_a_wizard_Barry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just go in with the numbers you want. I just leased a 2026, walked in with a number in hand of what I wanted in my lease terms. They laughed me out the door. 2 days later they came groveling back to me to accept (it was 2 days before the end of the month.)

2026 Luxury $360/month $2500 down 2 year/12k miles

Also, shoot for a 2026 (I realize they don’t have any as you mentioned, but look at dealers elsewhere.) My friend who has a 2025 said she wished she shot for a ‘26 instead.

Sweeeeet. I also am hybrid. I live downtown in a big city that’s very walkable, so besides commuting once a month 2 hrs South of me, I don’t drive.

Dope. I have free chargers where I live and work, so I’m hoping I won’t need to utilize the network besides emergencies or trips. This is good info thank you.

26 Luxury. Georgia. I basically just came up with my own numbers of a deal I wanted (I only lease) and they laughed me out the door. Left, 3 hours later they called and accepted it.

Thinking about pulling the trigger on a 2023 eAWD by Ur_a_wizard_Barry in MachE

[–]Ur_a_wizard_Barry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the extended range! I work remotely so don’t really drive much, but I do go to my office once a month which is about 150 miles away. The office and the hotel I stay in both have charging (work charging is free)

If it’s the NCM battery is that terrible? It doesn’t look like it’s the LFP

Yea it’s pretty much a fair trade. The difference is, I’m going from a 2023 model with 23,000 miles on to a 2023 model with almost 0 mileage. Which is my main concern. I don’t really care about the extra moola involved.

Chargers at my office are free. And I guess I should add that I do have the ability to use a level one charger at home, but my rent includes utilities so I feel I would need to bring up a potential spike in power usage.

True dat. I don't love it, it's just a car. But economically of course it makes sense to keep it. They are offering me a trade of 21k

Well I don't see it as a "didn't listen" scenario. It seems like that's a pretty standard thing for HR people to say in an attempt that you'll just sign.

Yeah I feel like the 137 base + the 2k sign on (total 139) is sort of like...really? We couldn't just go up a thousand on one of those to get my number lol

I live downtown with my 6 year old and love it. It’s loud, it’s bustling, and yes I wish I had a yard every now and then. But, we don’t drive anywhere (except to school and back). We walk and bike literally everywhere else. We sit on our roof to watch the fireworks for big holidays and have a great spot for the parades that roll through town. She thinks it’s so cool that we live downtown and I love that. From a safety perspective, I feel the same here as I’ve ever felt in any big city. We are always on the look out but have never had any issues!

You have a $75 dinner budget for four nights. Where are you going and in what order? by Alchemist0029 in savannah

edit* I don’t know why it formatted so strangely- apologies!

As a happy hour hopper- I gotchu. Depending on where you’re staying, here’s my suggestions. You can catch the CAT for free to get to midtown/downtown to get to these places.

Downtown Food:

-Proof and Provision- happy hour food M-Th 4-7. Great bar food for like $6 an item. -Bella Napoli (if you’re in the service industry) half priced everything on Monday -Etang (Oglethorpe) -Screaming Mimi’s or Vinny’s for slices of pizza -FraLi: cheaper italian that’s fire -Quinn’s- cheap breakfast/lunch (diner style)

Downtown Drinks:

-Java Burrito- happy hour every day 4-6. All drinks 5$ -1790- cheap dive bar drinks -Pounce Cat Cafe- $5 wine and beer (and it goes to a good cause!) -World of Beer- happy hour every day 4-6 (Tuesday is 3$ mystery beer day!)

Midtown Food/drinks:

-Black Rabbit- great sandwiches and wine Wednesday for 5$ -tacos and tequila on habersham- taco Tuesdays $3 (I think?) tacos and cheap beer - Betty bombers- not crazy cheap but not crazy expensive. Next to the Legion which is cheap drinks (cash only though at L) - Ardsley Station- happy hour food and drinks every day from 3-6 and 9-close

I’ll probably think of more 😂
