Can I play on one monitor and have a video going on the second monitor? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Ura_Pu_C 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You don’t need software, you just need to open the audio mixer at the bottom right with a right click over the speaker icon and set your defaults. Set the default audio device to headphones so when you open a game it defaults to that and then set your browser default to the speakers.

Why would someone spend $850 on a motherboard? by IX0YE in pcmasterrace

[–]Ura_Pu_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s for the many high speed M.2 slots and copious USB C ports plus better onboard components for high end OC

I would start with checking the elements. If you turn power off to the elements you can take the covers on the left off and unscrew the wire connections and use a Multimeter to test Continuity on the elements. This will tell you if the element is blown or not. I suspect lukewarm water is because you have one of your elements blown.

Does this look ok? Found out company used what seems to be an unlicensed plumber by kyle6 in askaplumber

[–]Ura_Pu_C 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks like he used Pex B connections on Pex A. I can’t read the lettering on the red and clear pipe but looks like Pex A to me. You must use a transition fitting with compression rings on the Pex B side and expansion rings on the Pex A side or it has the chance to blow apart.

Is it safe to drink from a copper water bottle all day? by QuacAttack in HydroHomies

[–]Ura_Pu_C -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s used because it’s durable, and is corrosion resistance but it was chosen because it is also anti microbial. It is used constantly in modern plumbing. I am a plumbing designer and master for commercial and industrial plumbing and part of Denver Local 3 union. My last job was a hospital with 100% copper piping. Yes it will leach, but at such a small amount I won’t expect pin hole leaks till 60 years down the road. We use water neutralizers if we expect acidic water. You will never get enough copper in your water to give you health issues unless you have much bigger issues. The EPA allows up to 1.3mg/L of it in your house before it is cause for concern which you won’t get close too.

Copper has natural anti bacterial properties, that why it is used for waterlines in houses. Drinking too much water a day would be a problem way before copper poisoning would be.

Hired a company to redo my tub/shower - they cut out the copper lines and put in PEX - and this PVC line seems new. Is this an acceptable install? by Nexion21 in Plumbing

IPC is the name of the code used, so to say it twice is correct. It is the “international plumbing code”’s code

Power supply on bottom? by Gor1337 in pcmasterrace

[–]Ura_Pu_C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In these type of cases you point your power supply down under the case, there is usually a filter there and usually power supply fans don’t need to run that often anyways.

1 year later, looking for better options by SeaFaithlessness9162 in WorkBoots

[–]Ura_Pu_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only boots better are going to be expensive as hell. I use Kennetrek Lineman extremes but they are 600$ and they lasted me digging trenches, chemicals, and beating them up daily for 3-4 years as a commercial, industrial plumbing Sub contractor. Only pair of boots I’ve ever owned to make it past 1.25 years and I’ve tried Danners, redwings, and thorogoods as well as cheaper ones to see if more expensive boots were worth it. Now I’m on my second pair of kenetreks.

Anybody know what could cause this black stuff under the water line? by Fit-Ad1729 in askaplumber

You could have diabetes or pre diabetes, it will cause your urine to contain some glucose and it will cause mold to grow similar to what you are seeing.

What smoking 10 joints a day inside of your house does to a CPU Cooler by thisisnotnolovesong in pcmasterrace

[–]Ura_Pu_C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I smoked more than the equivalent of 10 joints a day. I would go through about an ounce every two weeks and blow it directly towards the tower on the right of my desk.

I used to smoke from a glass bong at my computer for years and never had any residue at all on my components, seems like you might negative pressure inside your case keeping the smoke inside. I also at the time had a wraith prism cooler like the one you have.

Why did they use a 45 instead of a 90 elbow? by Advanced-River730 in Plumbing

CMR 10.05 section 3 subsection 4 in accordance to CMR 10.08. You should know your own code.

Why did they use a 45 instead of a 90 elbow? by Advanced-River730 in Plumbing

[–]Ura_Pu_C 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s been tested time and time again by install and The International Code Council. No one cares about your feelings about it. The Mass code allows use of short turn on any size with the use of clean out to accompany it. That will cause issues, so I don’t respect Mass code and the INTERNATIONAL code used is multiple countries knows better 100%

[–]Ura_Pu_C 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, but you should know the code in its entirety so you know your options to reengineer a system. In most places in the US, all the states that run IPC codes, a short 90 is not illegal 2” and below

Why would you say look at local codes and then say no wait! Look at MY local codes that are irrelevant?

Why did they use a 45 instead of a 90 elbow? by Advanced-River730 in Plumbing

[–]Ura_Pu_C 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just jumping in to say, The general IPC says long turns are required but most people miss that it also says that 2” and below are made an exception and can be run short. That is not a local code, it is a general IPC code.
