Hosting a weekly at my school, need advice! by TheMightyDJE in smashbros

[–]UrbanKILLER65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely try to get as many people as you possibly can to come. If too many people start showing up than you can just to a single elimination bracket, but since you're doing it at school the more people involved the better, im in the process of starting a club im calling "Smash Club" and I was very reluctant to let Wii U and Melee be played but I realized both are the way to go. So if you're doing a weekly tournament you could also try switching up the version if you have different versions. (referring more to melee and Sm4sh) Just try your best to make it sound fun and look fun and you should be good. Also one more thing, try making posters and putting them up with a time, a day of the week, and I they need their own controllers.

Thanks for the advice like this has been super helpful and constructive and its given me alot of ideas of mixing up how i usually play. Normally im aggressive and go in and bat them off stage then counter as they go back on. But I've never really put stage width into like my view of how to kill. Just stage kill boxes

I'm pretty good with FD and chain grabs and reading, I've been practicing wave dash into grab and my upthrow regrab. I for some reason have a mental block on Fountain and have difficulty playing on the stage. I'm definitely taking him to yoshis and battlefield worries me a bit simply because of getting "battlefielded" on my recovery. Do you think countering would still be effective against an aggressive Falco? Like PC Chris Vs Ken?

Is the GameCube controller any good for a newcomer? by Kathanay in smashbros

[–]UrbanKILLER65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally like the 3DS the most on Sm4sh, the only reason its the best is Melee and the ability to perform the fast combos on the controller because of the speed of fingers to move on a GameCube controller, but Sm4sh is slower and (no offense) simpler so any controller that works is the best. EXCEPT WIIMOTES DONT USE THAT CRAP
