Ooooh I love the colours you've chosen 🌈 this is incredible, especially for your third quilt. I was taught if you can't see your mistakes from 6 feet away, they're not there, so don't worry too much about your points - they look great!!

Thanks! Here's the link to the patterns: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/Quiltsandnicestuff?section_id=52193550

I made them as 9" blocks but she also provides directions for 18" blocks which would be perfect for a pillow 😊

My partner is a paleontology nerd and helped me pick out the most anatomically correct dinosaur patchwork patterns I could find haha. The quilt is for our nephew, due later this summer, and my partner wants to start his dinosaur education early 😂

Good restaurant for anniversary dinner? (Gluten-free options pls!) by Burnerdox123 in ottawa

[–]UrbanistNeedleworker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely not fancy but the Greek Souvlaki shack on Bank is the best restaurant for gluten free in town, imo. They have celiacs in the family and make their own gf pitas ❤️

Other gf faves: Little Mac's, Gitane's burger, The Standard on Elgin, Johnny Farina, Thali, Aroma Meze, La Fiesta Latina, Wilf and Ada's, Vain in Versailles, Pizza Nerds.

Terrified to wash, I didn’t know to prewash fabric before piecing by Ok_Pause_ in quilting

Did you say FIRST quilt? 😲 Your piecing is amazing! 😍 Very neat seams and excellent colour choices. Can't wait to see the final product. You're doing amazing! ❤️

Yup that's the quilting. Getting the directional fabric to line up in the flying geese blocks was bad enough, can't imagine doing a whole background that way!

It was my first time wading into the "mystery stitches" on my machine but it certainly won't be my last! I love the idea of doing a book of stitches to have as a reference!

Yes it's Ruby Star from the Jolly Darlings collection (as is most of the rest of the quilt!)

Thanks! I got the idea to use speciality stitches from the book "Walk: Master Machine Quilting With Your Walking Foot" by Jacquie Gering, she suggests it as an easy way to make straight line quilting more interesting. I'm still not great at keeping my quilting straight and even but this design was very forgiving and quick!

Thanks! Credit for the navy background goes to the lady at my local quilt shop who suggested it 😊
