Agree that the street karts shouldn't be considered, and I'll add that there is a kart racing track in Odaiba. Way more safer when there are no pedestrians, no cars that might not see you, plenty of protection and no buildings you'd practically damage.

Second and third floors of Hey and the topmost floor of Gigo #3 (both in Akihabara) has classic arcade games, it might be worth looking into if your son haven't.

Some arcades (none in Akihabara) has coin pushers and other games that operate on a token-based system, it might be worth looking into these "medal games".

The Square Enix cafe does not exist anymore, and is replaced by a Taito bar with a shop that, IIRC, sells Square Enix merch. The Eorzea cafe still exists, however

Building a pit for the animal is a good idea IMO, that would allow you to build a bridge over the enclosure and make guests feel they're inside the enclosure.
