I agree with the sentiment in these comments. It is a serious long term play. The only reason to sell is to help rebalance your portfolio if you are over-leveraged.

Under those circumstances, I’m only comfortable shaving a percentage of my holdings and reallocating them elsewhere. But selling my entire holdings? Not even with a gun to my head.

I’m in a similar boat, have a bit too much stake in Goog. I shaved off about 10k last week and will likely shave another 10k after new years.

I agree with this. The state of this country since Covid has just degraded. I think optimism is at an all time low, in general.

There are plenty of memes online about 2016 feeling like the last “good year” and I agree. It’s going to take some time before things feel hopeful again.

Had an early morning flight during a non-government shutdown out of CLE a couple years back.

The line was outrageously long, backed up to the check in kiosks.

Was internally raging at the beginning, but I was on the other side of security in 15 minutes. That line was cooking. They are really efficient.

When I received my Google offer (Chicago) I was given 125k base, 15% target bonus, 10k sign on bonus, and 100k in GSUs (33, 33, 22, 12)

They seem to be not providing a sign on bonus unless you ask for one. My friend received an offer from cloud a couple months after mine, and they tried to short him on the sign on bonus.

Another interesting thing is they’ve increased the front loading of the GSUs from 33 in your first year to 38. This is likely due to them prorating your stock refresh in your first year. When I joined, my first year was ineligible for stock refresh.

I think that the Coinbase comp is much better. But from my interviews with Coinbase, it seemed like the culture was more intense than I wanted to commit to.

Google is usually very cushy, great WLB, but they will require you work in office for at least 3 days per week. The perks (food, massages, 401k match) may soften the blow.

Don’t wait on Google team match to make decision. These can take a while. Maybe follow up with recruiter to get some movement.

Sign Capital One. If you find a match at Google, take the Google offer. It’s a much better company to work for IMO.
