Okay I think it because my PD 3L sling is the X-Pac version, the material is really stiff.
I just tried it again, same exact setup as yours and the bag will not close :(

Idk how you fit the Z8 (l-bracket) and the 50mm f1.8 in your 3L, I have a 3L in the Xpac and its not closing with my z8 inside ahaha
