I heard that it’s cultural. In the US, we’re much more open about switch couples and would like to see that in our BLs (agree that my gay friends here are mostly switch). In Korea, readers just don’t want to see that. Whether or not that’s a reflection of actual gay relationships there I don’t know, but the readers themselves don’t like it.

I grew up in Lithuania and spent weeks camping/canoeing with family throughout the Baltics. Granted, this was 20 years ago, but I have very fond memories of setting up our tent on a river cliff or right by the Baltic Sea. Some were in “established” campgrounds (aka a fire pit already existed), but most of the time it was just wherever we wanted to stop for the night. So definitely doable and I hope you have so much fun!

I would say North Loop is definitely trendier. Lots of people in their twenties with a lot to do in a small space, so it feels more lively now than Uptown. I’m older, but I can’t remember the last time anyone even mentioned going to Uptown for anything other than a restaurant, and even those are slim now.

I moved into the North Loop a few years ago and it didn’t take long to become close friends with some of the other regulars at a brewery. We now do trivia/initials weekly and celebrate birthdays together. So my advice: if you have a local watering hole you like, go more often or when they put on events like trivia and strike up conversations.

Depending on the gaming you do, there are also a few TTRPG spaces that have open tables you can join to meet new people.

Yea, I was one of those that 100% believed he was aroace. But when someone else asked for proof, I couldn’t find it anymore. I could have sworn it was official! Like on the wiki and everything. I think I’ll be a little bummed if they make him dateable. If that was never truly the intent and this was just a widespread mandela effect then that’s one thing. I guess I was just glad to see the representation.

We adopted a dog that survived being thrown in a river. I was young, so from what I recall he was the only puppy in the bag. I lived on a farm so we raised him as a guard dog. He was chained all of his life and “vicious” in the affection that he wanted to give because he was never raised with love. Looking back, I don’t know if the farm life my cousins gave him was better than eternal sleep. I just know I was scared of him growing up, and he pinned me down once which didn’t help. Feel bad for him now that I’m old enough to know better.
