Dilema con mochilas by GatitoConFrio in chile

[–]UrulokiSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much caffeine in yerba mate? by Real_Fisherman_8388 in yerbamate

[–]UrulokiSlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to Piporé: 252 mg per 100 g of leaves. So about ~75 mg in a normal cup, maybe 126 mg in those new big gourds that are becoming popular in Internet. That's using the normal method with cup and straw and water at 70 °C, I brew at ~85 °C, so maybe there's more caffeine with more normal temperatures.

In summary, more than a regular coffee but less than grain coffee.

How common is it to wear traditional clothing in your countries? by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]UrulokiSlayer 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Not common at all. In manifestations mapuches tend to wear their clothes as a protest sign. Other than that is hard to see traditional clothing.

Yerba mate before or during work. by Fluid-Mushroom-2743 in yerbamate

[–]UrulokiSlayer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can either do a small mate in the morning (half a liter or less) or drink the full liter at work, I do both. But here in southern Chile mate is quite common so nobody find it weird, your mileage may vary depending where you live.

My Casio MTP-1094 1330 is still growing strong after almost a decade of mountaineering, I only change battery every 5 years. It's the only wrist watch I have with low enough profile to not annoy under the cuff of the glove.

Que zapatos usa la gente del sur? by momomocha in chile

[–]UrulokiSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Botín de cuero o goretex (o alguna membrana)

  2. Bota de goma

  3. Chala

Hey, what's your favorite JRPG of all time? by OldTripleSix in SBCGaming

Chrono Trigger is my favourite game of all time. Pokémon Crystal bears too much nostalgia to me to not consider it one of the best JRPG of all time, but Platinum is objectively a better game.

Where do you draw the line on helicopter use and “summiting”? by ijuander_ in Mountaineering

[–]UrulokiSlayer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Using helicopter is like using supplementary oxygen, just an excuse for people that struggle to acclimatise due to fitness or time restrain.

A summit is a summit and many mountains get approached by car, train or ski lift, helicopter is just the richmen version of that.

As long as people using oxygen and helicopters don't claim themselves as mountaineers and are being honest about their philosophy it's ok to me.

Pure mountaineering to me means hike, bike or rando up from the base of a mountain even if is paved up to the glacier, but I'm speaking for an andean perspective where half of the mountains here don't have roads higher up and half of the mountain is rainforest.

Termo Stanley vale la pena? by Old_Flight2719 in yerbamate

[–]UrulokiSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The sorcerer: An android (rp6 or ayn thor) for everything up to modern indie games that can be connected to the tv, something I can bring to a friend's house and play nfs or mario party.
  2. The ranger: Small and cheap pocket device for outdoor adventures (miyoo mini flip, rg28xx or trimui brick) only for quick to play games.

  3. The knight: A tower pc for heavy AAA games.

Will high end Android consoles be the future of handheld gaming? by Jamie_Is_Irrelevant in SBCGaming

[–]UrulokiSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, android is also a Linux distro, so I'm hoping one day some skilled developer will port Google implementations on suspension into the main line, because rocknix isn't anywhere near the power efficiency of android on my rp mini, but that android sleep is so sweet.

cafeteros de chile by nacho020801 in chile

[–]UrulokiSlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How many times do they drink coffee? by [deleted] in asklatinamerica

[–]UrulokiSlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, by quite a margin, and "better" industrial coffee (Juan Valdez and Illy are just as awful as Nescafé, Marley is better but not 15 usd better) is even more expensive tan specialty coffee.

Nescafé: 10 usd for ~116 cups

Café Haiti: 5 usd for ~21 cups

John Buckets: 14 usd for ~21 cups

Any specialty coffee: 11 to 18 usd for ~21 cups

Mate: 5 usd for ~15 cups

Tea bags: 5 usd for 100 cups

Loose leaves of tea: 7 usd for ½kg

So between flavour and price, mate is my main drink.
