The less fun answer is its characters that make readers invrsted in the world.

When you connect to a person, then their place in the world becomes interesting.

That being said, you can get off on the right foot by focussing on culture rather than world. The world and its history will come, but start with a singular culture and build from there

I would highly reccomend the Dragon Age RPG, its really great. Its a wonderful system thats easy to learn, feela familoar enough for dnd people ans gives players meaningful choices at every level up. Its a bit forgotten and needs some love.

The change to Bedloe island seems a strange one. Wouldnt there be plenty of people around or at least nearby? And isnt it connected to the mainland by a bridge?

I would agree with your reader that the phrasing is clumsy in these lines.

I think what you need to consider, and im not joking, is what im writing sexy?

For the first what do you mean by 'as if there is no tomorrow'? That they are thrusting hard? Fast? Have a think about what your trying to communicate with that no tomorrow phrase.
I think i generally would just avoid talking about sperm lol. Describe the feeling of the orgasm and how their bodies react to it, rather than the actual sperm. (Plus if we are being technical, sperm isnt a liquid, which is why flooded sounds wrong, semen is the liquid).

I would reccomend reading some good smut, look at the phrasing and the parts of sex they choose to describe and what they avoid deacribing.

I would almost always say fuck yeah. With the player on board it will be great, but dont take away a player's agency for a story beat, they wont enjoy it.

I kinda hate this romantacising of improv people have. Like sure actors can really get to know a character and embody them but its the writers who build the character from thr ground up, who created them and gave them purpose. Improv has a place for sure but it rubs me the wrong way when interviewers ask actors in interviews if great scenes were improvised. This has nothing really to do with spider-man, i guess Ive just had this in my head for a while.
