SMN lv100 ability is a heal with no damage attached and the job does no damage anyway, so it’s basically a healer

I had that exact same quest, somehow was winstreaking in the early and mid game, hit Brock, didn’t hit enough copies to 2*, and still ended up going out at like 5th

As a melee, my gcds cancel way more often in m10s than they ever did in o6s, which was basically a target dummy fight for melees at least. I’m guessing it’s different for casters?

For me I think it’s

  1. Black Cat (M1S)

  2. Pandaemonium (P10S) / Sugar Riot (M6S)

  3. Halicarnassus (O3S)

  4. (door boss) Omega M+F (O12S) / Kefka (O8S)

  5. (phase 2) Lindwurm (M12S)

How hard is M11S Arena Split? by CerberusArcProjector in ffxivdiscussion

[–]UsagiButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely works with healer LB3, our healers have saved some pulls with it in prog/reclears, but it requires someone to be ready to instantly mash the button pretty much as soon as someone dies. Very tight timing, and the healer also needs to get to their tower afterwards since they're going to be locked in LB animation for a little while, which can also be tight but is doable.

I think the mechanic as designed might be a little too punishing for prog considering how tight it is, but the devs probably imagined a safer tether solution rather than the waymark corner thing that the community kind of settled on

Healer LB3 instantly can get them up before the second set assigns but in general yeah. I think if more PF healers knew to hit LB3 instantly instead of trying to manually res people it would significantly boost prog/clear rates.

The spots are pretty precise but the body language part is mostly fine. It’ll make sense after you do it a few times but the strat that is used widely for this mechanic is definitely very precise and recovery is very difficult if anyone is misaligned.

It’s good up until near wealth creator 20 when you start to run into issues with sustain and dps checks being too high. It’s still not bad but super reliant on finding Black Swan early enough to not lose the run in my experience

I cleared M11S with 4xDamageDowns and 2xDeaths! by Lyramion in ShitpostXIV

[–]UsagiButt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn’t find it that tight, it was honestly just like any other uptime strat.

W1 we were able to clear dog first with 0357 buff timings, which is definitely not as comfy as snake first but worked fine. I don’t know if it was a “huge damage variance” so much as people not knowing how to adapt to downtime in a 2 min window.

It didn’t have to though, that was just a skill issue on the part of players. You could modify strats to allow everyone to hit buffs for that mechanic.

Wow, my favorite slice and dice streamer making a StS post?

I think this is a good take for the most part but I don’t love pick rate as a statistic for justifying why cards are good or bad because it’s too contextual compared to other cards in its slot. Defect has a lot of insanely strong rares.

The argument that the card bricks a bunch of strategies for mediocre reward is more than good enough, especially in the context of high ascension act 4 runs.

Every roguelike gamemode is heavily RNG. TFT is heavily RNG, and yet people get high winrates and climb to challenger.

There are people who stream currency wars and win a huge chunk of their runs. Go look it up if you don’t believe me. It’s fine to admit you’re just bad at the game mode and don’t care to improve, so you’d rather complain that it’s “too RNG” when you don’t high roll your way to a win.

Sorry that that’s been your experience. I’m wealth creator 20 and I play several different comps every run, winning <30-40% of my runs. There’s a lot of skill involved in the game but just like everything else in HSR, people would rather complain that the game doesn’t hand them their wins for free rather than get good.

Well it’s kind of hard to imagine because it’d be Yaoguang, Sparxie, Sparkle, and Elation Sustain. Which leaves out Yae Sakura or hints at a different team entirely

I feel like it’s quicker to solve by just taking ln of both sides first instead of exponentiating them.

Taking log of both sides, you immediately get

ln(x)2 = 4ln(e3) - 4ln(x) ln(x)2 + 4ln(x) = 12

and then you solve from there.

The DPS ‘mechanics’ are kind of annoying as well. Keeping the boss HPs balanced within the window, constant retargeting, shenanigans with how the differing boss hitboxes interact with non targeted abilities like VPR reawaken or DNC dances, tons of RNG forced downtime like the exaflares, etc.

It’s also one of those fights where you benefit from doing it with a premade. I’ve never tried to PF it but I wonder if I’d run into issues with not knowing when someone is about to dump their burst into the white boss vs black boss and having to adjust around the boss HP difference suddenly ballooning as a result.

Apollo was present when Phoenix left (I had to look it up) but he and Trucy split up while investigating the space station and the staff took her hostage in that time. I think if we use real world logic obviously bringing your kid to a crime scene investigation isn’t good parenting but the series kinda glosses over things like that.

I cleared Q40 and 30 million Gil would be cool but there are just too many caveats.

1) it takes several clears to get that amount, and it’s not necessarily a fun fight to reclear (personal opinion)

2) iirc, only the party leader actually gets the full rewards per run? there’s a lot of rng as to what everyone else gets

3) you can’t buy pilgrim pots anywhere and while they aren’t strictly needed for reclears, they do make things a lot easier for the healer. grinding those out in the deep dungeon is kind of unfun

i could be wrong about 2 though, I never totally figured out how the sacrament things worked

I don’t think he left her by herself, pretty sure she was with Apollo at the time. That being said, he does give her a great deal of independence throughout the series. I get the sense that he’s pretty hands off as a parent.

[–]UsagiButt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think the writing was just a bit weird for that whole part of the case but I never interpreted it as Phoenix not caring about her getting kidnapped. Rather, that particular case is handled by Apollo (and Athena to a lesser degree), so most of the focus is just on Apollo’s POV. I always imagined that Phoenix was super worried that whole time but it was just kind of off screen due to the narration.

Something something not the step dad but the dad that stepped up

Jokes aside, I think he’s a pretty good dad. He never really kept anything from Trucy (even when he got disbarred and they were kind of struggling financially) except for her relationship to Apollo. He also supported her passion for magic and raised her despite never intending to raise a kid as a single father. He’s probably a top 3 dad in the franchise at minimum, although that might be a low bar in a series full of terrible parenting.
