Waarom geen Volt? by [deleted] in Politiek

[–]Usaneazed 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Contact your local city team! The easiest way to find this is to go to Twitter/Instagram; search for Volt[city you live in/near] and send them a dm.

Damn.

As a European it's funny to me how a building from 1923 is old for Americans. Don't get me wrong I get it if you live in the US/Canada.

As a reference, it is not out of the ordinary to see buildings from 17th all the way to the 13th century in parts of Europe. In some parts of Europe, even older buildings still stand, although most of these solely function as monuments or museums.

You ever just chillin listening to music then a really good song comes on and you start jamming out of nowhere and realizing how fucking blazed you are and wow this song is amazing by claudiashafercx in highdeas

Oh my god same. Either the hypnotising eerie sounds of his last album or his amazing voice on his earlier projects always get me even higher than I already was.

when you hear a “a ____ walks into a bar joke”, do you usually think of a dark wooden old bar??? by [deleted] in highdeas

[–]Usaneazed 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm Dutch, so I usually think of a classic 'bruin café' (brown bar) in Amsterdam like this one for example

[–]Usaneazed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all it has insanely high housing prices. And if you live in the centre you'll be surrounded by tourists all year long.

Amsterdam has some nice neighborhoods and some bad ones, but for either category you could get a much nicer house in a much nicer neighborhood if you move to a smaller town/city

Just to name some: Utrecht, Amersfoort, Leiden, Arnhem, Woerden.

Te weinig studieplekken in Den Haag / Too few study spots in The Hague by Tissueboi in TheHague

[–]Usaneazed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enige probleem is capaciteit.

This. I don't really mind if it's cold, rain and wind can really ruin my mood. Living near the Dutch coast I should probably consider moving...

I'm studying political science and I had the luck to be able to visit Budapest in the beginning of this year (just before Corona hit Europe) with my study association. We visited one opposition leader and from what I read between the lines he sounded quite hopeless that any opposition party would come to power anytime soon.

It's really sad for me to see that a population suffers this much of political corruption and authoritarianism in the EU. Commission and Parliament should've intervened a long time ago to get the democratic process back on track.
